Dr. William's Clinic,
1st Piccadilly Circus, London
What am I doing here? This was the first question that came to my mind when I opened my eyes.
"Feeling better Sarah?” a voice asked from the right side of the bed on which I had been lying. The room was dark. I couldn't recognize a single thing there. It was so dark that I saw only black light. But I could feel the small pipes that were connected to my hands and chest. I could feel the coldness of the stethoscope connected to my chest. I couldn't understand that what had happen to me? Was I sick? Or was I suffering from some disease?
"Where am I?” I asked as I rubbed my eyes. I was still looking for the person whom I asked the question. Suddenly, there was a dim light lighted in the room. Now, I was able to see a shape of a person, who was sitting there. But it was still hard to recognize or see his face.
"You are in London. Hi! I am Dr. William." He stood up from his chair and walked towards my bed. He stood beside me. He helped me to sit straight. Now, I could see him more clearly. He was a tall, handsome man with beautiful grey eyes and a fair skin. He was around my father’s age but still maintained a good figure. I was sure of one thing. He had a lot of admirers during his early age.
I looked around the room and found that some machines were attached to my body. Wow! What happened to me? This is definitely a hospital room but how did I reach here.
"But where am I? How did I come here?” I stopped for a second. "Wait! I was in Reykjavik. I was there with John, James and - ", I froze mid sentence.
"And- ", he was now sitting on his chair which was attached to the bed.
"Duke!" Duke? Who’s that? What was I doing in Reykjavik with James and John? Who were they? And how did I remember all these?
"Unfortunately, we found you near the coast. So you were admitted here.” he continued. "You are now in London. By the way what were you doing in Reykjavik?"
"I... I don't know" What was I doing there? I had nothing to say. I couldn't remember anything. Why couldn't I remember anything? Without any reason I started to cry.
“Sarah! Sarah, calm down!” He comforted me. “Please be relaxed. If you are having problem in remembering your past, I think I can help you.”
“Help? “ Seriously? He will help me? “But how?” I asked. Time machine wasn’t invented since then. Will he sent me to my past or will-
“Yes I can help you”, He interrupted my train of thoughts. “I have a way to help you remember your past”. Saying this he stood up from his chair and went to another room.
Can he really help me? Stupid thoughts came to my mind. Why can’t I remember anything? Am I suffering from amnesia? How stupid am I? He suddenly came inside the room and sat on his chair.
“Yes, I can help you.” He said and smiled. “If you don’t mind I can hypnotize you and can make you remember your past.”
“No way!”
“But why? “ He asked rather astonishingly. Suddenly his phone began to ring. He answered the call and then turned towards me and said, “I have to attain a critical patient. You can rest here and think what you really want to do? There are many other options but I think for now you need to rest.” With saying this he turned towards the door but he stopped suddenly and turned towards me,”And Sarah?”
“Yes Doc?” I answered him.
“Don’t worry, you are safe here.” He gave me a reassuring smile and exited the room.
Well he was a nice man. He also tried to reassure me which was pretty good. He said to think. Hmmm, now what should I do? I have heard about hypnotism, but actually trying it? Sounds weird. But he said about other-
RING! RING! RING! RING!
My thoughts were again interrupted by the damn phone!
