Second Chance?

~ Eros POV ~

“What are you thinking, Alpha Eros? Weren’t you planning to meet Claude? So, what exactly happened when you decided to head back to the Black Moon packhouse?” Axon looked kind of confused when he saw me sitting on the couch.

I am also thinking the same damn thing? What am I doing here? Today is the day when my best friend is going to get engaged, so I should be at his place, but instead of going there, I came back. That girl’s face. it just keeps appearing in front of my eyes and those alluring green eyes... I can’t just help, but think about her.

That girl’s thoughts are bugging me now.

I didn’t want anything to do with her, but at the same time, I couldn’t help but think about her. Why am I in such a mess? There is no way that I would accept her. I stopped believing in something like a mate bond the day I lost her.

She broke me and now there is no way that I would accept someone else. I am well aware that my parents want me to settle down for the sake of our pack and they wanted me to take a Luna and produce an heir, as it's my duty as their Alpha to make sure that the future of my pack is safe.

“I am going to meet him and his fiancée today at the party. Prepare some gifts for him and his soon-to-be wife. I don’t know what might be going on inside Aria’s mind. You do know how stubborn she is, right? Whenever any girl tried to approach me or Claude... she just lost her cool.

She loves Claude and, as I am their childhood friend, she is even closer to me. Claude might take her obsession lightly, but I know that she could easily kill the other woman with a smile on her face. I am afraid that Claude’s fiancée’s life is surely in trouble.” I told Axon whatever was going inside my head.

He is one of my trusted aides and the one who is aware of my scars and pain. There is one more reason that he is still my Beta. He doesn’t look at me with pity in his eyes. I don’t like it when people feel sorry for me. It just worsened my mood to the point where I could destroy anything that was near me.

Well, they might believe that my pain makes it difficult for me to continue my life normally, but they are not aware that my pain is the only reason why I am still alive.

‘We need her, Eros, and you know this. I can’t survive without her and if you are still adamant about rejecting her, then this might be the last time that you will be hearing my voice.

I was able to hold onto this day as I knew that the moon goddess had surely chosen someone, but if we lose her because of your stubbornness, then I won’t forgive you. I waited for our mate all these years after that incident and now that we are getting the second chance, you still want to continue living with the pain.’ Helios said to me inside my head and I just laughed at myself when I heard his words.

Second chance?

I never asked for something like that, so why did the moon goddess bless me with this unwanted mate?

‘I can’t believe that you are even excited about something like this. You might have forgotten what happened to Aura, but I will never forget anything about her. No one could ever take her place and if someone even tried that out, then I am not going to sit here silently.’ I replied to him while I tightly closed my eyes.

They say that everyone should try to move on in their lives, but moving on is not that simple. One has to go through many things to forget about someone. Well, forgetting someone might be easier, but erasing the memories that we made with that person is impossible to erase from our minds.

I don’t need anyone. I am not a weak Alpha and I stopped depending on others. The day I lost everything.

Being alone is nothing new for me, but I won’t be able to take any other she-wolf as my mate.

“I have already prepared the gifts. I received a message from Claude. He wanted me and some of our other friends to attend his engagement party.” Axon said, and I simply gulped down the glass which was kept on the table.

Suddenly, I heard an angry voice and I knew who had entered my room without even looking his way, “I seriously can’t believe this. Why did you kill Ion and what exactly did you do with his daughter? I only wanted you to settle down, but you just keep ruining everything for us. Don’t you know the importance of having an heir? The pack members won’t be able to trust you completely if you don’t settle down, so why don’t you find someone?”

It was my father... the ex-Alpha of the Black Moon Pack... Alpha Adonis Black. He was known as one of the strongest Alphas of his time, but nowadays he just loves to nag me about settling down with someone and he keeps asking me to produce some heirs for the sake of the pack.

“Well, if that girl didn’t suit your taste, then there is one girl who is my friend’s daughter. She would prove to be a perfect mate for you. Should I introduce that girl to you?” My mother chirped while she made her way inside my room.

Is she serious right now?

I got up from the couch while I gazed at Axon. He was looking down, but I knew that he was trying to control his smile.

Does she really believe that I would need her to introduce someone to me?

“Come on, son. There must be someone in whom you must be interested, right?” My mother asked me with a broad smile on her face.

Sometimes, she seriously forgets her age.

Suddenly, I remembered her delicate skin and her jewel-like eyes. For a moment when I was with her, I felt that she was able to look deep into my soul with her eyes. I am not even sure why I asked her to stay away from other men. If that was me or my wolf that acted up at that time... I am not even clear about that thing.

“There must be someone, right? You just spaced out for a moment there. Tell me... who is the girl? Do we know about her?” My mother was more excited than my wolf.

“Yeah, tell us, Eros.

Who exactly is this girl?” I heard a different voice and when I turned around, I saw my uncle.. my father’s older brother. He was holding a wooden cane while he was walking in my direction. He was all smiles when he entered my room. What is he doing here?

~ Estelle’s POV ~

It’s been a day and today is the day when Claude would introduce me to his packhouse and his friends, but I don’t want to meet anyone. I have yet to meet those two. Aria and that... Beta's brother of hers. He was the one who tormented me the most, while Claude just showed his indifferent behaviour towards me.

I was locked in a room and that is the same room in which I used to live back in the days. They gave me a shabbier room when I gave birth to my daughters and that room was not even large enough for me and my daughters.

For most of my life, I adjusted as I didn’t dare to leave Claude. I was completely dependent on myself and my identity was nothing more than the Luna of the Blue Blood Pack.

I walked towards the bed and there I saw the evening gown that Claude personally chose for me. He wanted me to wear this gown to the party.

I would rather wear a mourning dress on this occasion. If he believes that he has already won, then I will show that the game has just begun. That guy had just loved one person and that was himself. My eyes suddenly fell on an old stuffed toy. That’s the same toy that Eve took for Eloise, but she ended up getting caught by Aria and that heartless woman dared to raise her hands on my children.

That time I was not able to do anything other than shield them, but now... Aria had to pay for what she did to me and my daughters.

Suddenly, the door of my room opened and there I saw Claude with a woman with chestnut brown hair and hazel eyes. Just by looking into her eyes, I was able to guess that she was having my presence in this room and also in Claude’s life.

The woman who snatched everything and the woman who made me believe that not everyone is good. She always played the role of innocent in front of Claude, but her reality was something that not many people know or are aware of.

“I have brought some food for you. Eat and get ready. Aria will help you out.” He told me while he snapped his fingers and a few of his people entered the room with food platters in their hands. They placed all the dishes on the table and after keeping the plates, they just left.

“So, she is Estelle Adrienne, huh? I expected something better, but who knows... we might even become good friends one day. I can’t believe that her parents sacrificed her for the sake of their packhouse.” She forced a smile at me while she clung to Claude.

I don’t care what sort of relationship she shares with Claude, but she has no f*****g right to drag my parents away.

I clenched my fists in anger, but I just lost my cool when she said the next line with fake tears in her eyes, “Those people are seriously heartless. I mean, they sent their daughter to an unknown place without even thinking twice.”

The moment she completed her words, I just walked toward her and after picking up the jar of water from the table, I poured the complete jar over her head.

“What the heck! Have you gone mad!” Aria yelled, but there was no reaction to Claude’s face. It was like he was amused by my actions and he enjoyed it.

Why is he not getting angry at me?

What exactly happened when he was behaving in this strange manner?
