Avery's POV: Raine's boots snapped a dead branch outside the greenhouse. The manor had gone utterly silent. In that deathly quiet, the snap of the branch made every Linton go pale. Wind whipped loose snow around the abandoned greenhouse at the Linton manor, and the tension became suffocating. Raine's golden slit pupils locked on the freshly opened pit in front of him.
