GENEVIEVE, who was lying beside Barbie was already asleep. Their beds were on the lower deck of two double decks which were joined together. Their room had six double decks so, the occupants were twelve girls which includes the two of them.
Barbie looked at the luminous alarm clock which was on her bed. It was already ten-thirty. One and half hours had passed since the light in their room went off. But she could not sleep yet. On ordinary days, she was asleep at ten in the evening. Yet tonight, she could not sleep even at this late time. When she turned her eyes towards the door, she noticed that the lights in the hallway were also off. Only the lights at the study hall were visible.
