We decided to leave the car at the Pack hall and walk home together. The four of us had been so tightly wound all evening that the fresh air felt like the perfect tonic now the tension had finally eased. A few wolves nod to us as they pass, whilst others avert their eyes completely, pretending not to see us. That’s to be expected I guess. We walk in comfortable silence for a while, Mum and Dad have their arms wrapped around each other’s waist and Nell’s hand is firmly in mine. Mum is the first one to break the silence. “Well, that was a bit anti climatic wasn’t it!” Dad snorts quietly. “Not enough drama for you darling?” “Well, I thought there’d be at least one dramatic outburst. Maybe a few wails from devastated girls finally realising they’ll never be Luna..” Nell laughs softly
