I woke up the next morning cuddled into a muscular chest. I knew it was Xander from the tingles where ever our skin touched. I let out a soft "mmm" as I rolled over to face him. He had a smile on his face.
"Good morning," he said quietly, kissing my nose. I closed my eyes and smiled.
I couldn't believe that Xander was actually my mate. I had been in love with him since I was a young teenager. I had tried to get over it, knowing he would meet his mate. I just never thought that I would be his mate.
"You have a pretty smile," Xander said, breaking me out of my thoughts. My eyes fluttered open, but closed again as soon as Xander kissed me.
Our lips molded softly together, our bodies lightly touching. I ran my hands through his messed up hair, and his hands wrapped around my back, pulling me closer and closer to him. I needed air, so I pulled apart and curled up into his side. "So what do you want to do today?" Xander asked me quietly.
"I think we have a party to set up," I laughed, smiling and kissing his cheek. "I'm gonna take a shower." I grabbed some panties and a b*a, a cute purple shirt, and dark skinny jeans. I ran into the bathroom, locked the the doors from the closet and the bedroom, and turned the shower on.
When I hopped in the shower, the warm water hit my back. As I began to clean myself, I let myself wander off in thought about Xander.
He was perfect. I had been with him in a romantic way for only a day, and I already knew that he was the best mate anyone could ever have. He was so sweet and loving. I was sure the fact that I had known him for my entire life played a major roll in that, but I wasn't complaining. It was nice to be with someone who I already knew so well. We wouldn't have to go through the awkward "getting to know each other" phase.
I finished cleaning myself and hopped out, wrapping a towel around my body. I looked in the mirror and tried to decide what to do with my hair this morning. I took the towel off and put my clothes on. I decided to put my hair in a side braid, leaving some hairs to frame my face. I did the rest of my morning routine, and walked into the bedroom.
Xander was asleep on the bed, hugging the pillow. I quietly walked over to him, pressing my lips to his shoulder. I left a trail of kisses up his neck, and finally they hit his mouth. Xander began to kiss me back immediately.
He sat up on the bed, wrapping his arms around me. I crawled onto the bed and sat in his lap, wrapping my legs around his waist and grabbing his cheeks softly.
The kiss slowly got heated. It was a demanding and passionate kiss, and I couldn't help but to let out a small moan. Xander's eyes filled with l**t, and his lips traveled down to my neck as I gasped for breath. I tangled my fingers in his air and tilted my head to the side. "Mark me," I moaned, closing my eyes and enjoying the moment.
I didn't have to open my eyes to to know that Xander's eyes were pitch black. He let out a low, possessive growl and I felt his canines sink into my neck. The pain lasted for a millisecond and was replaced with unexplainable pleasure. I let out a soft moan, and another growl escaped his lips. I couldn't take it anymore.
I grabbed his cheeks aggressively and pushed my lips onto his. His arms pulled my impossibly closer and he deepened the kiss. I felt his tongue against my lips, and didn't feel like teasing him today. I opened my mouth and his tongue slipped in.
His hands began to play with the hem of my shirt, slowly lifting it up. We were going too far and Xander wouldn't be able to stop. If I continued to take it farther, his wolf would take full control and forcefully mate with me, and I didn't want that.
Yet, my wolf added. I pushed my hands against Xander's chest and pushed him back slightly. Our foreheads were still pressed together, and I could hear his ragged breathing.
"I love you, but I'm not ready," I whispered.
"I know. Thank you for stopping me," he said. I stared at his lips, which were swollen and pink from the last couple of minutes. My hands were still holding his cheeks as we sat there just staring at each other.
"God, I love you," Xander whispered, burying his head in my neck and kissing my mark.
"I love you too, but we have business to do," I said, pressing my lips to his temple before removing myself from his lap. I listened closely and heard Thomas' heartbeat. I smirked at the thought.
"Where's the firecrackers?" I asked wickedly. Xander smirked, knowing the look on my face meant trouble. He ran into the closet and came back with a small bin. He opened it and my plan became even bigger.
I grabbed the best ones and a lighter, quietly running across the hall with Xander. I was quick and quiet when I was sneaking into his room, which was easy with my petite frame. I quietly set a couple on the floor, sending Xander to get another lighter and two pans with lids. I smiled evilly. This was almost my routine every morning; pranking somebody. It normally wasn't as extreme as it was yesterday, though. Yesterday was a birthday.
Xander came back and I quietly set the pans down on the floor, setting the firecrackers in them. "One. Two. Three," I mouthed to Xander. We lit the ends, put the lids over them, and ran out of the room.
Let's go for a run, I heard Xander's voice in my head. I almost had a heart attack but remembered we would have a special mate mind link because he marked me. I nodded my head and we ran out of the house.
We heard a loud series of bangs, and I laughed my butt off as I shifted. My wolf was a light grey color, and on the full moon it almost sparkled under the light. Xander's big black wolf nuzzled it's snout into my neck.
"DAMN YOU WHITEFIELD! DAMN YOU!" We heard Thomas roar, and that was our queue to take off running. I was running slightly faster then Xander, who was trailing behind me.
An hour later, we decided it was safe to go home. I walked in to the pack house holding Xander's hand. We went up to our apartment where Thomas and Tessa were sitting at the island.
"You guys are idiots," Thomas laughed.
"Hey! Your the one who didn't hear us, even with your wolf hearing!" I teased.
"I was fricking asleep!" Thomas shouted defensively.
"Well next time, don't be asleep," Xander shot back at him before bursting into laughter.
"You three remind of of the Three Stooges, only three times worse!" Tessa said, shaking her head. The 'Three Stooges' laughed at this.
"I'll take that as a complement," I laughed. Tessa just rolled her eyes.
Once we were able to stop laughing, I finally spoke up. "I believe we have a party to set up."
