Chapter 16

I immediately spotted Quinton, along with nine women in the room with him. Five of them were all over him, and the other four were pleasuring each other. It was disgusting to watch. I looked over at Xander, who was staring at Quinton with a dead look in his eyes. All the boys were, which I was glad of because it proved they were all keepers. Quinton gasped at us, and he shifted into his wolf, throwing off the women. "Get out," I growled at all of them, and I was intimidating enough that they all grabbed their clothes and ran. Everyone else shifted into their wolves except me. Quinton eyed me but lunged for Ali, and Smith stood over her in a protective stance as Xander bit Quinton in the side, pulling away immediately. A large chunk of flesh had been torn out of Quintons side, and it had already weakened him. He really didn't have the brains that a true alpha needed. Quinton was focused on everyone around him that he didn't notice me come around behind him and stab him with the shot. I quickly injected him with the liquid and jumped away, leaving the shot in him. He shifted back to his human form within a minute. He tried to stand up, but he was too weakened to do so. Xander and Thomas pounced on him, ripping at his flesh until there was nothing left of him. The smell was overwhelming and I ran to the connected bathroom, puking up my breakfast from the morning before. Xander was by my side, wearing a pair of shorts, holding back my hair and rubbing my back. "Why do I keep puking?" I asked, beginning to cry. "Shhhh, I don't know baby. Come on, let's go home and we'll figure it out there," he said. I nodded and wiped away my tears. "I love you," I said, leaning into his side as he wrapped an arm around me. "I love you too," he said, kissing my head. "Let's go home guys," he said. "Wait! They don't have an alpha anymore! If they want to join our pack we should let them!" I said. Xander smiled at me and nodded. We reached the living room, and we had Ryan, who was actually the beta, call for a meeting using the pack mind link. Within fifteen minutes, most of the pack was there. "Who are you?" Somebody called out. "Yeah, and where's alpha Quinton?" Somebody else shouted. "My name is Xander. I'm the Alpha of the River Stone Pack, and this is my mate, Taylor. That is my beta, Thomas, and his mate, Mia. And you may recognize Ali and Aiden. That is my mates younger sister, Tessa, and that is Ali's mate, Smith," Xander shouted, introducing us all. "You alpha was a mentally sick man! First, he met his mate. He didn't reject her and wouldn't let her reject him, and continued to sleep around. When Anna, Ali, and Aiden switched packs, Anna rejected him before she left." I looked over at Aiden, and he was wiping away the one tear that had escaped. Ali, on the other hand, had tears already streaming down her face. Smith wrapped an arm around her and pulled her into a hug. "When he found out Anna had rejected him, he got furious. And when the three joined our pack, he came and killed Anna." Gasps were heard around the room, and conversations immediately formed. "Quiet!" I called out, and everyone stopped and looked at us again. "Then Quinton came and talked to me. He said since we stole some of his pack members, he was going to steal some of ours. We didn't steal any pack members. We offered for them to join our pack and they wanted too, for family reasons. Then, almost two weeks ago, we found two of our pack members dead, and one of our pack members had been taken." Everyone looked at us with wide eyes, silently begging for us to complete the story. "Thomas' mate, Mia, had been taken. We caught her scent and followed it, but it disappeared at the border. The next morning, Thomas was gone. We all went out to find him, and that's when Quinton captured all of us." "Now, the story of Smith here is just as terrible. He was a rouge who briefly passed through your territory, not knowing it. When Quinton found him and brought him back, Smith and Ali found out they were mates. Quinton made them think that they could be a happy couple, but a week after he took Smith, he threw him in the cellar and told Ali that he killed him." Everyone gasped, and a very pregnant lady started crying. Her mate began to comfort her. "We were able to all escape and we killed Quinton." Some people looked relieved, others looked beyond pissed, and some were just in general, happy. "You all are welcome to join our pack if you want," Xander called out. "Is there anybody who doesn't want to join our pack?" Very few people raised their hands, and all of them were people who we had noticed were loyal to Quinton. "I am not appointing a new alpha for this pack, so the nine of you are now considered rogues." On the way home, Xander explained to me that if he had appointed an alpha, they would still be a pack and could end up attacking our pack because we killed their alpha. They still could attack, but it would be less of a threat if they were rogues and not a pack. The second we reached our pack land, Mia and I ditched the group and ran to Nate's house. I knocked on it and was met by Natalie, who engulfed us both in a hug. "It must have been terrible having to go through something like that!" She cried. "Mia?" Asked a small voice. Trina was peeking around the corner. "Oh my god, Trina!" Mia gasped, running over and grabbing her sister. She held onto her for dear life, whispering soothing words into her ear. "I'm so sorry you had her for almost two weeks. The plan was to get in, kill Quinton, rescue Mia and Thomas, and get out. I didn't know we would get thrown into the cellars," I said, hugging Natalie. "Oh it's fine. You didn't know!" She assured me. "I'm just glad you're all okay." "If you ever need someone to watch the kids, I'll do it for free," I offered. "I wouldn't ask that of you," Natalie laughed. "But I feel terrible you added an extra kid for two weeks!" I debated. "Taylor, you had important business to take care of, and you needed somebody to watch Trina. We're part of a pack. We all help each other in a time of need," Natalie said. I nodded, because I knew she was right. "Alright, now why don't you go home and lay in a nice, comfortable bed and get as much sleep as you need." "Okay," I smiled. Mia picked Trina up and walked out with me, a relieved smile on her face. "It feels good to be home," she said softly. "It does feel good to be home."
