CHAPTER 11 While waiting for Andrea to find the documents they had talked about, concerning the Palazzo della Signoria, Lucia began to go through some old paperwork kept in the library of Palazzo Franciolini and never properly classified. Among other things, an old letter, dating back to the sixteenth century, addressed to “Captain Franciolino” of Jesi, and signed by none other than Duke Della Rovere, happened in her hands. The writing was almost incomprehensible already in itself, moreover the parchment on which it was written was very ruined by time, but Lucia tried to decipher its contents anyway.
