The weight of his words, mine, settled over me like a warm blanket, albeit one woven with threads of disbelief and burgeoning hope. Rorik, my wolf, had chosen me. A human. The implications were staggering, a dizzying blend of ancient traditions, interspecies chaos, and, most palpably, the electrifying connection that thrummed between us. His declaration made my heart beat while His eyes, pools of molten gold, held mine captive. I saw the fierce determination, the unwavering conviction that characterized the Alpha, but I also saw something softer, something vulnerable that resonated deep within my own soul. It was a reflection of the fear, the hope, the love that was rapidly consuming me. "Rorik…" The name caught in my throat, a whisper lost in the crisp mountain air. How could this be real? How could the formidable leader of the Silver Moon pack, a creature of myth and legend, possibly want me? He stepped closer, the heat radiating from his body a tangible force against the cool air. The scent of pine and damp earth, the very essence of the forest and of him, intensified, wrapping around me like a protective embrace. He reached out, his large hand, calloused yet surprisingly gentle, cupping my cheek. He took her hand, his touch warm and reassuring. Elara laced her fingers through his, feeling a strange sense of belonging, a sense of coming home. She had no idea what the future held, but one thing was certain: her life would never be the same again. She was bound to a werewolf, an Alpha, a man who claimed her as his mate. And, despite her fear, despite her confusion, a part of her was… intrigued. "Say it, Elara," he murmured, his voice a low rumble that vibrated through my very bones. "Say that you feel it too. Tell me you aren't as terrified as I am hopeful." My heart hammered against my ribs, a frantic drumbeat echoing the turmoil within. Terrified? Yes. Hopeful? Desperately so. But beneath the fear and the uncertainty lay a truth I could no longer deny. The pull, the irresistible force that had drawn me to him from the moment we met, was not just curiosity or fascination. It was something far deeper, far more profound. "I… I don't understand any of this," I stammered, my voice barely audible. "But… yes, Rorik. I feel it too." A flicker of relief, quickly masked by renewed determination, crossed his face. He leaned closer, his breath warm against my skin. "Then trust me, Elara. Trust me to navigate this. Trust me to protect you… and us." His lips brushed against mine, a feather-light touch that sent shivers down my spine. It was a promise, a silent vow etched into the very fabric of our beings. And in that moment, surrounded by the wary gazes of the wolf shifters, I knew that my life, my world, had irrevocably changed.Elara nodded. "Okay," she whispered. "I'll try."Rorik smiled, a genuine smile that transformed his face and made Elara's heart skip a beat. "Good," he said. "That's all I ask."
