Astrid's POV
I stared at him for a few seconds not getting what he was saying. Why would La Oscuridad invite me to work for them? It was obvious I never wanted to join an organization in the past since I refused all of them and wanted to work on my own. They are trying to use Luca as their contact.
“Why should I join them?” I asked, leaning back in my seat as I looked out. “I just want to be involved in all this because I want to help you get rid of the Hills and those behind them.”
“That's why you have to join,” he said, his voice calm and relaxed. “There's suspicion that the Hills have something to do with El Sombra. Getting rid of one of theirs for good will surely make them focus on you. And finding someone like me out there would prove difficult.”
“You sound proud of yourself.”
