Gabriela rubbed her temples as she picked up her things. Most of her classmates had already left, excited for the end of the school day, but she barely had the mental energy to breathe, let alone hurry. And she had practice today — something she wasn’t happy about for the first time since she could remember. Throwing her backpack over her shoulder, she left the classroom, only to run into Kyle right outside of it. He was leaning casually on the wall, staring blindly into the distance.
