Prologue

[Keliche Shizamme Sandoval's Point of View]

"Keliche Shizamme Sandoval, graduated at Liberty University with a degree in Chemistry." I said while staring at the sea of unfamiliar faces with a cold stare, an unreadable, emotionless expression. After introducing myself, I made my way towards my seat beside a long-haired man who seemed to be the star of the day. He immediately walked towards the podium where he should introduce himself too.

“He smiles a lot. I guess he doesn’t have any problem like I do.” I whispered to myself while looking at the Greek God standing at the podium. His perfect sharp jaws, his well-sculpted body, and a drop-dead gorgeous smile that would definitely light up someone’s world.

"Khyzrr Khryss Alejandro, graduated at Halister University with a degree in Chemistry." He spoke, that's the cue for everyone to start chanting his name endlessly. Halister University is one of the best school in the country, I wonder how did he get in? Maybe his family’s rich or because he’s intelligent.

“He also came from a prestigious university, huh? He’s not just handsome, he is intelligent too! Omo! He’s perfect!” One of our co-trainees whispered, they started gossiping about him yet they don’t even know him that well. Some even said that they had a crush on him, that they love him but they don’t even know who he really is.

After we introduced our names and showcase the universities we came from, our supervisor spoke in front while grinning from ear to ear, he seemed so impress about our introductions, introductions of male trainees to be exact.

"Good Afternoon, I'm please to meet all of you. I'm your supervisor, Philippe Craniard, the head of Marketing Department. I want to inform you that you have to work here at the company as trainees for the next 30 days so I hope you'll get along with someone throughout this journey. See you tomorrow!" He said then walked out of the room. The room was filled with relieved faces of trainees. As the supervisor walked out of the room, my co-trainees started to talk to each other, probably gossiping about someone. I also walked out of the room as soon as I got all my things inside my backpack.

While I was waiting for the elevator to open, I heard loud noises. I’m screwed, I hate these workmates already. Did they even know the word silence? Khyzrr started walking towards my direction with a battalion of girls following him. Like he’s some sort of Greek God or saint, he’s just like some good looking but they’re looking up to him like that.

“Can we exchange numbers?” A girl with a revealing dress asked him but he just shrugged and smiled at her. They seemed very disappointed. Bad for them, this guy seemed to be aloof to women.

“Hey, what is your name again?” He asked while looking at me, he’s smiling widely so I just stared back at him while looking at the faces of his so-called fangirls inside the office. I just want to go to Café Latte and drink my favorite coffee. As soon as the elevator opened, I stepped inside and thankfully it isn’t full. I heaved a sigh, thankfully, the flirts didn’t get inside. They seemed to be busy with the lover boy outside. But as soon as the elevator was about to close, a hand stopped it from closing. I mentally face-palmed myself when I saw the man who is behind the act. He smiled at the elevator girl, her face became red upon seeing him.

“Sorry, Sir.” The girl politely said, he just smiled while massaging his right hand. I just looked at my phone and checked Ms. Leticia’s message a while ago. She talked to me the other day if I’m free to tutor his son this afternoon so I replied, yes, since I have no plans later. It’s better to work my ass off than to lay in bed and relax, I need money. I’m not the old Keliche who will lay in bed all day while surfing the internet or reading books, I’ve changed.

The man beside me purposely cleared his throat to get my attention so I looked at him, “You looked like the Goddess of Knowledge.” He said to me while looking at my face intently like he’s memorizing my physical features.

“I don’t look like her, I am her. Nice to meet you.” I told him, I didn’t even know that students from other schools knew my nickname. It happened to be that our official school website posted my achievements every now and then so they coped up with a very unique nickname.

“So, I guess we met few months ago. Fragrance Exhibit 2018?” He asked, I just nodded. Maybe, he really saw me. I have this photographic memory so I don’t usually forget things, maybe he saw me but I didn’t saw him.

Once the elevator stopped and the door swung open at ground floor, I stepped out of it and walked outside the building to hail a cab. But before I can even raise my right hand to hail one, an arm landed on my shoulder so I immediately kicked whoever he/she is side wards.

“f**k! You’re violent!” Khyzrr screamed but I just stared at him with my blank expression.

“You can’t just hold someone you just met, Mister.” I said while looking at his aching body, I didn’t even put too much force, he’s just acting like a sick kid. So, I didn’t mind him, I still hailed a cab and luckily, a cab stopped in front of me so I immediately get in.

“Drop me off to Cafe Latte, please.” I said to the cab driver, he nodded and smiled at me but I just looked at the window and saw some street kids sitting at the side of the road holding a plastic cup waiting for someone to give them some penny to fill their empty stomachs. I remembered that I kind of look like them when I was still in Baguio, I even walked door to door to find someone to tutor for my everyday allowance, Thank God that Liberty University gave me a full scholarship. Perks of being an intelligent person.

"Ma'am, we're here." The driver announced so I gave him the money and left. When I was out of the cab, I felt the heat coming from the sun and the warm air breeze. I looked at my favorite coffee shop. It’s just a usual day but there are so many teenagers inside the coffee shop, I find it odd. Before I can even pull the door, I saw the signage, “Free Wifi”, so that explains why there are so many people inside, well it’s a good way to attract customers.

As I opened the door, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee invaded my nostrils. I saw pile of books arranged neatly at the bookshelves, the sweet mellow love song is invading my ears. I immediately made my way towards my friend at the counter who is busy looking at the people inside the café.

“Hey, Alana. There are so many customers today, huh?” I greeted her, she just rolled her eyes, she looked so stressed, maybe because there are so many customers today. So since I’m here, I just decided to buy my coffee.

“The usual or you want to try something sweet, Kels?” She asked me so I just rolled my eyes and just paid my usual drink before walking towards my favorite spot. When I saw someone sitting there already I looked at Alana, “What? I can’t push someone away just because he sat on your spot, Kels.” She laughed at me so I just walked and sat on the other side of my favorite spot facing the man who is now busy reading a book.

The body built of the man seems familiar. And I find it weird because he’s reading the book upside down. Maybe he’s some kind of geek who wants to try something new. New discovery, huh? So, since he’s too quiet and looked like he’s already at peace, I decided to bring out a book too so I could start reading.

But before I can even open my book, the man in front of me lowered the book he’s currently holding, he smiled after revealing his face. I almost drop my book upon seeing him, what on earth? Is destiny playing with my life again? This is not good!

“Oh, it’s you again. You’re always sitting here, is this place yours?” He asked while wiggling his eyebrows, I swear to God I will rip this guy’s head. He’s oblivious!

“If you followed me here to pissed me off, then I’m already pissed off. Leave me alone right now or I’m going to drag you out by myself.” I said to him while giving him the deathliest glare I ever made. But being him, he started laughing his ass off.

“Chill, I didn’t follow you here. I’m also a regular customer here, but my spot is already taken. There’s a lot of customers today, you know? Thanks to Alana’s great wifi idea.” He said before sipping his frappe. I want to vomit, frappe for me is too sweet.

A few minutes later, Alana went to our table holding my coffee. She smiled at me but I just rolled my eyes at her.

“Als, your friend’s giving me a cold stare at the moment.” Khyzrr told her while playing with the frappe he’s holding.

“She’s always giving a cold stare to everyone yet she’s so hot-tempered. And just so you know, Kels doesn’t eat sweet foods.” She answered while grinning from ear to ear.

They’re gossiping about me yet I’m here. I just sipped at my coffee and it felt like heaven but I think I immediately got back to hell when I heard a devil laughing. Is he some kind of psycho or what?

“Remind me to put you in a mental institution, Mister. You looked crazy.” I said to him but he just looked at me, to my coffee, then to me again. I’m doomed, he will be my workmate for the next few days and he’s crazy, that’s a fact. Upon looking at him while he’s laughing, he’s twin dimples are showing and I find it cute.

“Kels, he’s too handsome to be a psycho.” Alana interfered so I looked at her with disbelief, I’m her friend yet she’s betraying me!

“Go back there, you have some work to do.” I said earning a small smirk from her, like she’s loving what I just said.

“Yes, Madame. I will leave you and your date right now.” She said laughing while walking away so I just looked at my wrist watch and upon seeing that it’s already 3 in the afternoon, I finished my coffee.

“You’re bitter like your coffee, Miss. No wonder.” He said while putting a cookie inside his mouth, I swear when I hang around him a lot, I will vomit a lot and I will literally die. So, after I finished drinking my coffee, I put back the book in my bag and I was about to walked out when someone held my shoulder and a soft lips fell in my lips. I didn’t move, I want to move but my brain isn’t functioning right. After several seconds, he pulled out the kiss and I found it gross.

“You annoying dimple! Y-you shouldn’t kiss someone you just met! Argh!” I shouted at him while punching his biceps, and it only made me cry because they’re hard.

“I don’t want seeing you angry but I find it cute though I bet you look more beautiful when you smile. See you tomorrow, Ice. Start thinking how to spend your next 30 days with a handsome man like me, prepare your smile for me, honey. Ciao!” He said before walking outside the coffee shop leaving me dumbfounded at my place.

“First, I have flirt workmates. Second, someone stole my favorite spot. Third, the someone who stole my seat also stole my first kiss. Oh geez! Can’t this day get any better?” I told myself before heading out of the coffee shop without even saying bye to Alana.

As I drove away from the coffee shop, I mentally face-palmed myself because I just gave a kiss for free. I’m not that kind of guy who would kiss a random girl but right now, I can’t even believe that I did that. I immediately call my sister, silently hoping that she’s not busy because I need to consult something to her.

After three rings, she picked up.

“Hey, brother?” She asked with a very energetic tune so I sighed, she used to be like this despite of our family problems.

“Lizzey, are you free for tonight. I’ll treat you to dinner?” I asked her, she sighed.

“Fine. I want in a seafood restaurant, brother. Pick me up in my condo, okay?” She jokingly asked which pushed me to end the call.

The condo she’s using is mine, but since she loves to be thrown outside the house everytime she’s going home late, I decided to buy a new house and just let her be what she wanted to be, I just gave her my place since she needed it.

I drove to her condo since my outfit is already okay, I don’t want to drive back to my house again to change since I’m too lazy to do that.

My phone started ringing, I thought it’s Lizzey so I answered it, not knowing that it’s the demon.

“Son, how are you? It’s been 10 days since you left. Just give up already and face your marriage.” He said but I refused, I won’t go back there without a bride, I won’t go back there without Keliche. I will slap to his face that I can find a bride within the span of time he gave me.

“I’m fine. And just wait for my return, Father. Don’t miss me too much.” I answered before ending the call with a smirk on my face. I won’t be a robot anymore, I have my own decisions plus I don’t do marriage for convenience. I like Keliche for being so gorgeous and cool, but I have to wait till she likes me back too.

When I reached my former condo unit at the topmost floor. I pushed the doorbell many times before my annoying sister opened the door. She immediately hugged me so I hugged her back too.

“You missed me?” I asked her, she nodded. She’s a wildcat when she’s at the bar but she will always be my sister whom I love the most.

We walked inside her condo, I sat at the sofa and turned the television on.

“I’ll just fix myself. Just wait for me here.” She said so I nodded and stared at the television and played with the remote control I’m currently holding.

After a few minutes she got out of her room fully dressed, with her make ups on so I turned off the television.

“Let’s go.” I said, she nodded as she walked ahead from me. She locked her condo and we walked towards the elevator where the boys can’t stop staring at my gorgeous sister so I purposely cleared my throat. When we entered the elevator, I even put my left arm around her shoulders, which made her glare at me but I just laugh at her until the elevator reach the ground floor.

When we reach the parking lot, she bit my hand so I immediately pulled it from her. I just laughed as she rolls her eyes, she entered my car immediately so I entered my car too.

“Why do you want to eat dinner with me?” She asked while putting her seat belt on.

“It’s about a girl.” I answered honestly. She grinned at me, but I just rolled her eyes.

“So, what’s the deal with this girl?” She asked again, I start the engine of my car and started driving.

“She doesn’t smile, so I will make her smile. She’s the girl I want to wait at the altar, Lizzey.” I answered again.

“Fine. But who is this lucky girl?” She asked by I just stayed silent while driving towards a seafood restaurant near our area.
