Emily's parents finally felt her impact

"What do you want from me?" Bello asked Emily, raising a brow, trying to hold back his fury as Emily dragged him to the library, where it was utterly silent and no one was there. She looked into his eyes for some seconds, confused about where to start. "Before uttering a word, you must have lost your mind for thinking I'll be gushing over a bully like you," she uttered, disdain evident in her voice after glancing at Bello from head to toe. "Hahaha," Bello chuckled. "I see you've brought me here to rain insults on me, but I'm not ready for this." He changed to a more serious tone, widening his eyes as he stared into Emily's brown eyebrows, closing the gap between them. "This will be the last time I'll be warning you to keep your distance and stay away from me. You're very fortunate I've not been in a good mood lately. You would have definitely seen the real beast in me by now." Each word that came from him frightened Emily like a dagger in her heart. She was terrified at the realization that there was no one to save her if Bello decided to do something silly to her in this library. The atmosphere was indeed quiet, and the tone of Bello's fury echoed through the air. She contemplated whether to proceed in triggering his anger or not. Suddenly, a flicker of hope beamed in her mind. "I'm sure he can't kill me," she muttered to herself. "I despise your kind of person; your brags are empty. This school would be better off without people like you in it." "Shut up!" Bello yelled out with so much fury, trying as much as he could to restrain from doing something stupid. "I considered you as a girl of class in this campus. You just made me realize you are a gold digger and desperate fool. Like I said the other day, you are not my spec, and I won't warn you again." Each time Bello spoke, it felt like a dagger piercing through Emily's heart, reminding her of how much he hated her. It made her admit that his reasons for hating her might be genuine. Bello's words hurt her deeply. She looked into Bello's eyes with a wave of defeat amidst fear, uttering a word that finally hit Bello harshly, giving him no time to rethink his actions. "Son of a bitch." The next thing Emily realized was a thunderous hot slap on her face that sent shivers all over her body, causing her to fall to her knees. The slap was heavier and hotter than any slap an average man could afford. Bello hit her with so much fury because lately, he had been trying so hard to figure out who his true parents are, only for him to hear from a girl that he despised so much that his parents are bitches. "Next time, you'll be mindful of your words," he bent his knees to Emily's level and gazed into her eyes, his tone sounding achieved yet troubled. As he stood up slowly, leaving Emily in the library with her blurred sight, she pleaded with a cracking voice and tears running down her chin, "Please don't go." A wave of regret washed over Bello, making him empathic as he came back to help Emily, who was already fainting. Bello was spooked when he noticed Emily was losing consciousness, and he started panicking out of fear, thinking of what to do next. Emily started crying as negative thoughts played disorientedly in her mind. "You have triggered the anger of a supernatural being." She struggled to raise her voice beyond a whisper level, barely audible. Bello's tears made it even worse, leaving him in an ocean of fear. "Don't worry, nothing will happen to you; it was just a slap," Bello assured her, attempting to carry her to the school clinic. "The person that shelters you doesn't mean well for you. I know nothing about your personal life, but I'm a visionary; that's my hidden potential. Please don't die; you hav...." She couldn't continue talking as she faded away in Bello's hands. "Emy! Emy!!" Fear grabbed Bello from the ground of his head to the sole of his feet, both from what she had said and seeing someone collapse in his hands. Which can obviously be a lot of tension for a nineteen-year-old to comprehend. "Oh no, what should I do now?" he muttered to himself, panicking as sweat soaked his arsenal Jessie and combat pants. He attempted to carry her to the school clinic but restrained as he was overwhelmed by the outcome of hitting a girl since it's among the rules and regulations of the school that a boy must not lay his hands on any girl but rather report her to the school authorities. "You should have told me you are a sickly cell," Bello couldn't help but cry at the trouble he had gotten into, thinking about what she said earlier before collapsing made him more terrified. A few moments later, after Bello had sat down with Emy, calculating what to do, he decided to go to the school clinic to get some over-the-counter pills like ibuprofen and anti-inflammatory, while he hid Emily who was lying lifeless on the books he had arranged like a bed so she wouldn't pass out completely from the cold of the marble floor before he returned from the school clinic. He hastily forced open her mouth, pouring the liquid he had brought from the pharmacy, hoping that she would wake up soon, but nothing happened. School was already over, and everyone had departed to their various houses. A part of Bello's mind debated whether he should leave Emily there and run away, but he didn't because his friends had already seen them going to the library together, and he felt huge empathy for the poor girl, mostly after realizing she was only trying to review her terrifying vision. Luckily, Bello believes in visions too, and he believed her. "Please wake up, Emy," Bello shook her, crying in silence. The day was dark already. Bello hid Emily and himself under the bookshelf when the security came to confirm no one was in the library. So certainly, it was just the both of them, locked in the library, probably the whole department or even the whole school. "After a moment, Emily stirred and coughed, her eyes fluttering open as she struggled to regain full awareness." "Ahhhh." "Thank goodness." A sigh of relief washed over Bello, causing him to wrap Emily in his embrace. "Thank you for not dying," he uttered, the passion and peace in his tone overwhelming Emily, making her hug him in return before regaining her consciousness fully. "Bello," she spat out with a heavy tone, echoing as a reminder as he was lost in emotions. "I'm sorry," he said, lowering his tone beyond average, unwrapping her from his embrace. They stayed together all night in the library, waiting for morning so they could go home. Emily's mum and dad were spotted sitting on the couch in their parlor by 2 am. They had already called the school, but they said she wasn't around, that all the students had left. Moreover, the school doesn't hold the responsibility for the students' well-being, mostly the ones that don't live in campus. "Emily's parents were pondering where she could be by this time of the day. Even though her parents didn't show it, they couldn't bear the thought of anything happening to their only child. As the popular saying goes, blood is thicker than water." Ethan, who happened to be Emily's father, couldn't deny the impact Emily had on their family. "It's the first time since Emily was born into the family that we've truly felt her presence," he admitted. "Maybe she's really a good child after all," Sele added, surprised by Emily's recent display of assertiveness. "She even spoke back to me today." "She did?" Ethan asked, puzzled. Emily was always quiet, often shrinking away from confrontation. He wondered where she found the courage to stand up for herself. "Maybe she left because I threatened to disown her and adopt another child," Sele speculated. "Come on, Sele, it couldn't be that," Ethan interjected. "Besides, we've said similar things to her before." While Emily's parents fretted over her disappearance, Bello's uncle Amino pondered whether Bello had run away due to their recent altercation. No matter where he went to, he'll come back because this is his only home, he has no other Choice nor option. it will be too bad for him if he heard Bola's conversation with me cause its only going to make me force him to make use of the powers at the wrong age which will lead to his death, if his parents couldn't run away from me, certainly he can't run away from me too. Amino muttered all this within himself upon wandering Bello didn't come back home that night without informationing anyone. As uncertainty loomed over Emily's family, they grappled with their fears and anxieties, hoping for her safe return.
