CHAPTER NINE

The limo stops and the door is opened by the chauffeur, we step out of the car and I look at my surroundings, sighting an expensive Victorian-style villa standing in all its glory with the exterior doing more just to the pocket of its owners.

I notice the presence of the men in black, they walk around the compound in perimeters, I was pulled out of my thought my mom, "Let's get you inside honey", She says walking me towards the villa. We climb the stairs and the door is opened by a door coach, we walk into the house and the exterior does no justice to the interior, the interior looks elegant and expensive.



"Welcome to the Marshall residence", the butler greets walking towards us, we take our seat and the butler was joined by four older women, a young man and nine young women, two of the older woman are dressed in different attire while the others are dressed in a maid attire but the man is dressed in white attire with a cap on his head.

"How was your journey", one of the women in different attire asks taking her seat beside mom.

"It was eventful", She replies smiling at her.

"Honey, I want you to meet the workers of the villa", Dad says to me.

"Lawrence is the butler, Nanny Estephania was my nanny growing up, gesturing to the woman beside her, Juliet is our housekeeper, she takes care of the house with Rose, Bella and Hannah gesturing to them, Angelo is our chef, he makes any dish you desire and he's very good in the kitchen with Zara and Juliet to help him out, Rita is our pastry chef, she makes the best pastry in the continent with Daph and Mary to help her, Isabella our gardener, she loves planting and tending to the flowers in the villa, she has Beatrice and Caroline to help her also and lastly, Anita she's Nanny Estephania's granddaughter and also your age, "Mom says gesturing to all of them with a smile on her face.

"Everyone, I want you to meet our daughter Diamond Aurora Hazel Marshall", Mom continues squeezing me into her side.

"Diamond Aurora", I say curiously.

"Told you she won't like the name, we should have asked first", Dad says to Mom.

"No, I love the names. Just wondering why those names?", I respond.

"We decide to name your Diamond because you are a rare and priceless gem, while Nanny Estephania named you Aurora because you are like a new dawn for us", Mom replies.

"I love it, thank you", I say to them.

"Let's check out your room, shall we?", Mom asks.

"Sure, let's go", I reply standing from the sofa with Dad and Nanny.

"Welcome to the family, Diamond", Lawrence says to me.

"Thank you, sir", I respond smiling towards him.

We take the step and am astonished about what I hear, the villa consists of the main building, a guest house beside it, a big garage, and staff quarters behind it, the main building consists of two master bedrooms ensuites, five-room ensuites, three living rooms, two kitchens, two swimming pools, a theater room, an entertainment room, a fully equipped gym, two offices belonging to both parent, a helipad, and a library.

"This your room", Dad says opening a white-painted door.



Her Room.

I am shocked by the decoration of the room, it was as if I stepped into one of those rooms from a magazine.

"Is this my room?", I ask in awe.

"Of course, sweetheart. Don't you like it?", Mom asks.

"I love it, thank you", I reply.

The room has four doors including the one that leads into the room, one door leads to an expensively furnished balcony, one leads to the bathroom and the last one leads to a filled-up closet.

A dress-up table is placed beside the bathroom door, while a reading table and chair are placed behind the entrance door. A plasma television sets on the wall facing the bed.

I walk out of the closet into the room, "Are the clothes to your likings? ", Mom asks.

"Yes, I love them", I answer smiling.

"Thanks", I tell them pulling them in a hug.

"What belongs to us also belongs to you", Dad says.

"Let's get some food inside you, shall we?", Nanny says.

We walk into the dining room and I am shocked at what am seeing, the dining room shelves hold scores of wines, it looks very cozy and expensive at the same time.

I spend my day getting to know the workers of the villa and my parents, I find out I and Anita have few things in common and we will be good friends, guess she will be the only friend I can turn to here.

I spent the rest of my weekend with my new family and for the first time in forever, I felt wanted and appreciated. All staffs in the villa turn out to be my family, Nanny becomes my Nanny while Lily and Mia live in the villa with me, I still don't know what I need them for and what their job descriptions entail but have finally overcome my fear of Lily but Mia remains my favorite.

Mom and Dad tell me, I can take a room and turn it into anything I want it to be, it can be a new wardrobe, my office, a library, or an art room, I was stricken when I heard it and delighted at the same time. I don't know what the room will be turned into yet and my room turns out to be the second master bedroom and opposite my parent's room.

I was told that I will be attending one of the most expensive and famous high schools in the world, "Golden Elite High", it's the school for the wealthy and famous kids in the world. Celebrities, politicians, and important business accolades send their kids there, the tuition fee is above $100,000 and it's doesn't include vacations and summer outings.

I stayed up late last night to learn more about the school, I learned the school has one of the most expensive building and compound, it holds lots of buildings and few historical buildings, its located in the heart of New York, it only admits limited numbers of kids, it admits nothing above eighty kids per year, the school has four big libraries, the compound holds seven different buildings, each building holds different classes the freshman students have their building, the sophomore students have theirs, the junior students have theirs and lastly the senior students also have theirs with each building having their lunchroom, a car park that can hold only one hundred cars and sports arena.

The school libraries stand four stories high, each floor belonging to each grade the fourth floor belongs to the seniors, another building holds the staff building and admission office while the last one holds the school stadium and other extracurricular departments.

Golden Elite High allows students to put on their outfits but the girls should always put on shorts and the boys are to use trousers it's a well-guarded school that keeps the paparazzi out and gives freedom to its students.

My father turns out to be a major benefactor of this private school because it is owned by his father's younger brother and now it's run by his cousin. Mom keeps talking about how I will love the school and how I will make friends from the same economical group because she and Dad attended the school. We will be moving to New York because of my school, I will be resuming immediately the adoption papers as been finalized.

I will be returning to Texas today and I have missed my friends so much, we communicate almost every hour and we talk about what we do every hour, we all have pictures of how our rooms and houses look like and so far, mine seems to be extraordinary, turns out Nia and Sky are both enrolled into another school in Florida, it's also an expensive school and their parents studied there, their parents are very close turns out that they are childhood friends and they also want their kids to follow in their footstep, which the older ones already did.

Due to who my parents are, I must have the best of the best, but I will be far away from my friends with no one to understand me. I just wish my uncle has a child I can relate to.

The car pulls over, I and mom step out of the car and I see the jet with the pilots and hostess standing by it, smiling at mom encouragingly I hold on to her hand while we walk towards the waiting jet.

Dad couldn't accompany me back to Texas because he had a business emergency that needed his attention, Mom wants to make up for not picking me up from Texas that's why she's taking me back herself and spending some time with me.

We sit beside each other in silence, "Am going to miss you sweetie", Mom says with tears in her eyes.

"I will only be gone for eight days, Mom", I tell her squeezing her hands.

"It's still long and I will be lonely", She replies, during my weekend stay, I grew closer to my parents and it was fun getting to know them behind the camera and away from their jobs.

"Mom, I will call you every day", I tell her.

"Video call", She negotiates.

"Hmm, What do I get in return woman?", I asked her smiling.

"So much for been a Marshall", She replies.

"Sell me something worth your request, Mama", I say to her.

"Why do you have to be like your father? I have to reduce your interactions with him before I will be the only goodhearted one in the family", She says to me.

Feigning hurt, "I and Dad are goodhearted Mother", I say to her placing my hand on my forehead dramatically.

"That I know, you drama queen", She responds with full-blown laughter.

"I love seeing you smile, Mom, keep it not just for the camera or the wrinkles will start showing and it will look bad on you", I tell her.

"You know I love you right", She whispers to me.

"I know ma and I love you too", I whisper back to her.

"You didn't have to whisper back, naughty thing", She says.

"I know", I whisper back.

She pulls me into her side, using her hands to brush through my hair, "I u mom, you and Dad from the moon and back, with am my heart, and thank you for adopting me", I tell her sincerely.

"We love you so much too pumpkin and thank you for giving us the privilege to be your parent, my Diamond", She responds kissing my hair.

I wake up to find myself in a moving car, mom's fingers keep working magic in my hair, sitting up I smile at her.

"Welcome back to Texas love", Mom says to me
