CHAPTER SIX

The silence in the room is enough to understand that we are all in our world trying to process what we all just passed through and how it's going to affect our lives each.

I kept staring at the door expecting someone to come out with a camera and screams you've been pranked or for someone to just walk in to wake me up from my slumber. It's times like this I will appreciate the kind of entrance May gives herself in our room just to pull us out of our dreams.

Oceania walks out of the room only for her to come back with a panic look on her face. "Are you guys aware of the guards standing outside of our door?" She asked pointing at the door nervous while she starts her regular pacing, which she does when she's trying to figure something out.

"Seriously I don't need them, "Sky screams before burying his face into his pillow with mumbled frustrated scream.

"Same here," Oceania said back at him before walking to the middle of the room to sit on the chair looking defeated for the first time. Oceania believes she will be a female version of Sherlock Holmes, she hated being kept in suspense and she loved knowing about things that involve her friends, that's why I and Sky know she will make a perfect lawyer but for the first time in forever she looked defeated

"How real was today's event?" I voiced out, the behaviors of my friends were getting to me, the presence of the guards Nia claimed she saw and the defeated look on her face was making me question my sanity, I wanted to know if how real today's event was.

"It's our reality Haz," Nia shouted at me slamming her hand on the table in annoyance, I jumped up from our bed out of fear of getting hit with anxiety kicking in and my body starts shaking due to nerves, my eyes gets blurry with tears I felt the room closing up on me and my lungs starting to give out I found it hard to breathe and I did not hear my friends trying to calm me but I could see was their movements.

"Follow my voice, Hazel," I hear a voice saying to me with hands pulling me back on the bed, "You are going to be fine just take a deep breath, in and out," Another voice said calmly I followed the voice's instructions back to consciousness within five minutes, I could see the room very well and my friends looking at me with concern on their faces.

"Am alright now," I said to them with a tired smile on my face trying to ease their worries.

"Am sorry for shouting at you," Oceania told me looking down at her feet in regrets.

"Am fine Nia at least I need to start getting used to been shouted at," I said looking at her in defeat, "Do you think I will be able to survive in their world?" I continued timidly looking at my friends hopefully.

"Look at me girlfriend our adopted parents are good friends, which means we will be together always." Sky replied with his hands holding mine tightly before pulling me into a hug, "We will be fine because we always have ourselves." Oceania said to me with a smile on her face also joining the hug.

"Tell me about those adopting you," I said to Nia after we've pulled out of the hug and we were all seated on the bed with me and Sky's back on the headboard while Nia is seated with her back to the door facing us.

"Well they are the Walkers, the husband has a law firm while the wife is a medical doctor who has her hospital, they have a son whose name is Daniel he's 23years old neurologist, he's engaged to his long time girlfriend who is a Nurse he always wanted a sister so he asked his parents to adopt a teenage sister for him to protect, guess am going to have a protective brother and your father is his godfather." She said looking at me with a smile on her face.

"You already have someone to put you through your career plan then," I responded instead, I am very happy for her having someone to look up to and help in the law sector is a good thing for her career.

"Yes, the husband was so happy when I told them that I wanted to become a lawyer, he talked about starting my application into Harvard School Of Law, can you believe that I will be attending Harvard guys," She said with happiness radiating from every inch of her body, for the first time in forever after her parent's incident she was genuinely happy and I was very happy for that.

"You deserve the best Nia." Sky said to her agreeing to my thoughts.

"What about you Sky tell us about the couple adopting you?" Nia asked him taking all attention off her and unto Sky who was grinning from ear to ear.

"They are the Blacks, a husband is a businessman he's into buying, rebuilding and selling of bankrupt companies, the wife is a well-known model in the industry, she has her beauty product agency, they have a daughter who is 25 she's married with two kids and her name is Isabella who is happy with them adopting a male child, I told them am gay expecting them to reconsider but the wife said she knows due to the way I talk and walk and she has always wanted a gay child. When I told her I want to be a model she was overjoyed, she wants to start applying to the Fashion Institute of technology was shocked when she said it like it's my dream college but it's very expensive." He screamed out in laughter which we joined due to his enthusiasm.

"Am very happy for you", I said to him after our laughter died down, he was also going to have a great family who wanted him for who he was and they are willing to help him towards his career growth.

"Am happier for you Hazel, your adoptive parents are the great Marshall are you kidding me you have no one to compete with?" Sky shouted happily looking at me like I was some sort of royalty.

"You will have everything and everyone at your feet just begging you to say hello and touch them," Nia screamed joyously joining Sky.

"Tell us everything how are they in person?" Nia asked me trying to calm herself, "You better start talking young lady you sat down with the gods of the business world the king and queen of the United States and you are going to be a demigoddess and a princess you better give us the full list." Sky joined her also.

I told them everything we talked about how I didn't recognize them in person till I realized who they are, how we talked about myself and changing my name how open and happy they are and how my life will be guarded 24/7.

"Whoa, who would have thought that a depressed abandoned child will be the heiress to the United State fortune." The sound of May's voice pulled us out of our conversation.

"You think you can get away with having what I have always wanted in my life and my dream of being the daughter of the Marshalls," She asked with hate rolling out with all her words.

"You are not good to be their child you are an ugly, pathetic, miserable, depressed, and mistake child who needs to be eradicated from society," She said looking at me with hatred.

I found my fingers quite fascinating while I watch them shake in fear, I see Nia holding my hands and squeeze on them attempting to stop them from shaking.

"What do you want from us May?" Sky asked sounding angry he has never sounded like that, he sounded scary.

"So you think because you are been adopted by an influential couple you can start biting don't forget you are a puppy Sky all bark no bite," She taunted dismissively returning her gaze at me.

"You think so am giving you to the count of three May, if you don't get out of our room I will ask the securities standing outside to throw you out," Sky said back to her immediately while he walked towards where she stood.

"How did she gets past them in the first instance?" Nia asked him still trying to calm my shaking hands and nerves.

"Your time is up May," Sky said to her with a smirk on his face, "You can't do anything to me Sky," She told him with a smirk also on her face which only increased the fear I had within me. "Security," Sky shouted the sound of the door opening pulled my attention from the both of them towards the four men in black who walked in with guns in their hands while looking around for the threat, after walking around the room and making sure there is no intruder they kept their guns back into their hostler and walk towards Sky.

"You called Mr. Black," One of the men in black who am guessing is their leader said to Sky bowing his head before him, "I want her out of our room please," Sky said to him pointing to May seconds after getting through the shock of being called Mr. Black and being bowed to

"How did she get in?" Nia asked him out of curiosity. "She said she's a friend of yours Miss Walker," Another man in black also bowing to her replied almost immediately.

"She's no friend of ours and we want her out of our room please," Sky said to him authoritatively, they nodded and walked May out of the room who is surprisingly quiet since they walked in but she tried resisting when they tried walking her out which results to she being carried out.

"What just happened and when did you start talking like that?" She asked facing Sky with her detective look coming into play.

"Today I guess, Mr. Black said my sexuality shouldn't define me that am the son of a businessman am expected to command respect with my voice and appearance everywhere I find myself, was just practicing to do just that and I find it quite fascinating." He said sounding pleased with his delivery.

"What! that was epic have always wanted us to be able to shut her up like we did today, like did you see the look on her face it was priceless," She said happily clapping her hands in pride, "You are fine now Haz." She faced me wiping the tears that escaped from my eyes with her fingers.

"She's right you know she......" I said to them truthfully with pains in my heart, "She isn't right because she doesn't know you like we do she knows nothing about you, Sky helps me here." Oceania interrupted me with a disapproved look on her face, she looked at Sky with a glint of hope in her eyes.

"Look at me Haz," Sky demanded making me look up to meet his gaze, "You are the prettiest girl to grace the face of this earth you are smart, Intelligent, Beautiful, Sexy, you are not a mistake but your birth parents are for abandoning you." The sky started taking a seat beside me holding my hands in his.

"Yes you are depressed and that's because you've been through what no one in this house has gone through, you are strong because you always rise no matter how broken you are, girl you are courageous because you face everyone that made you go through hell every day with a smile on your face, you are a star because you brighten up our day when we feel down, you are a role model because you wake up every morning always wishing for a better day than the previous one and to sum it all up babe you are a living perfection and don't let anyone tell you anything different and if they do, don't believe because they are bullies and jealous of who you are." He said to me smiling with tears rolling out of his eyes, he grinned at Nia who was also smiling nodding her head with tears coming out of her eyes too.

"I love you guys from the moon and back and thank you very much for always been there for me," I said to them looking at them with a smile on my face also wondering how I got so lucky to have them in my life.

"We love you too and we will always be here for you." They respond in unison which made us all laugh and we hugged ourselves.

Even if I was not going to be with them always, I knew I could call unto them if I needed anything they will always be there to protect me and I could never trade them for anything in the world. No matter what this new influential world was going to throw at me, I will always get back up because I have them.
