Kate was spending the evening with her friends tonight, so I decided that I wanted to hang out with my dad. I hadn’t seen him much recently with how busy I’d been prepping to be Beta, and I figured tonight would be the perfect night to catch up. He always complained about the late shifts, so I hoped that visiting would help make his long night a little less monotonous.
