Kate and I walked Evelyn quietly to the packhouse’s entrance. When we got there, we all looked at each other.
“This is real now. I always knew that being in leadership was a hard job, but this is kinda scary.” Evelyn said out loud.
Kate nodded at her. “I know. I feel way too young to be having these discussions or be making decisions that impact the whole pack.”
“I’m just glad we have another year to learn.” I added.
“I kind of wish Daniel was letting us wait till we were done with college like his agreement had been with Nate. I get that he’s ready to retire though. This is just a lot of responsibility.” Evelyn mused. “At least you guys have each other and I have Josh. Hopefully Max and Marcus are able to find their mates soon so that they can have help with their duties
