I looked at Kate and grinned. “I’m so excited! Nate is one of the nicest people around and I’m so glad he’s finally met his mate.”
“Me too. She’s a human though, that’s rare.” Kate said contemplatively.
“Yeah. I guess nothing is ever easy, huh.” I nodded. “But I know Nate can figure this out. After all, humans find love all the time! Plus, we liked each other before you turned 18 too.”
“I suppose you’re right. It’s nice to know we would have found each other even if we were humans. It’s one of the things that made accepting myself a lot easier. I’m glad we kissed before we felt the pull. It made our relationship special in a way.” Kate smiled thoughtfully.
We got to the bar and found the girl sitting alone. Where did her friends go?
