A New Pack 2

1285 Words
As I walked back to my cell room after the announcement that I was one of the slaves to leave with Gabriel, I couldn't help but feel a mixture of surprise and irritation. Who was he to summon me like that? I was just a lowly slave, not worthy of his attention. As I walked, lost in my thoughts, I heard someone calling my name. I turned around to see my lover, also a slave, running towards me. My heart sank as I knew that I would soon have to leave him behind. We spent a pleasurable night together, but I knew that it was time to break up with him. "Hey, Celine," he said, panting from the run. "I heard about Gabriel taking some of us. Are you going too?" I nodded my head, not trusting my voice to speak. I knew that I couldn't bring him with me, and I didn't want to give him any false hope. "I'm sorry," I whispered. "I don't think we can see each other anymore." His face fell, and I could see the sadness in his eyes. "Why not? We can make it work." I shook my head, tears threatening to spill. "I can't. It's not up to me. Gabriel has his own plans for us." He nodded his head, understanding dawning in his eyes. "I see. Well, I'll miss you." I hugged him, holding on tightly. "I'll miss you too." As I pulled away, I knew that this was the end of our relationship. It was time for me to focus on surviving in a new pack, with a new master. I woke up to the sound of whips and screams, the usual sounds of a slave's morning. As I rubbed my tired eyes, I felt a sense of dread wash over me. Today was the day we were leaving everything we knew behind to follow Gabriel to his new pack. I quickly dressed in my tattered clothing and joined the other slaves in the courtyard, where we were all tied to chains. Gabriel's father, the pack leader, addressed his son one last time before we started our journey. "Gabriel, you will lead your pack with a fierce fist. Do not let them disrespect you, and never forget who you are." Gabriel just nodded, his face emotionless, but I could tell he was excited to start his new pack. As we began to walk, I kept my head down and stayed quiet, not wanting to draw attention to myself. The journey was long and treacherous, and I could feel the blisters forming on my feet from the rough terrain. Despite the pain, I was relieved to be leaving the slave house and the painful memories it held. But as we walked, I couldn't help but feel anxious about what was to come. I had heard stories of how fierce and cruel Lycans could be, and I feared for my life. I glanced around at the other slaves, some looked scared while others looked excited for a new beginning. I envied them for their optimism but couldn't bring myself to feel the same. As the sun began to set, we made camp, and Gabriel ordered his guards to set up a tent for him. I watched as he disappeared inside, and I couldn't help but wonder what kind of leader he would be. I had heard stories of his strength and arrogance, and I didn't know if I could handle being under his rule. As I sat down by the fire, I heard my name being called. It was one of the slaves, a boy I had grown close to during my time at the slave house. He looked at me with sad eyes, knowing that we would soon be separated. "Celine, I don't want to leave you," he said, grabbing my hand. "I love you." I felt tears welling up in my eyes. I loved him too, but I knew it was time to end things. "I'm sorry," I said, my voice breaking. "We can't be together anymore. We're going to different packs now." He nodded, looking down at his feet. "I understand." We said our goodbyes, and I felt a sense of loss wash over me. I was leaving everything I knew behind, including the people who had become like family to me. As I lay down on the hard ground, I tried to push the sadness away and focus on the journey ahead. But as I closed my eyes, all I could think about was what lay ahead for me and the other slaves under Gabriel's rule. Celine stood alone at the boundary, watching as the families of the other slaves said their goodbyes. Tears rolled down her cheeks as she thought about how she had no one to bid her farewell. Her family was long gone, and her friends were on duty, unable to come and see her off. She felt so alone and abandoned. Suddenly, she saw Gabriel looking at her from afar. He strode towards her, his face stern and unsmiling. Celine wiped away her tears and tried to compose herself, but she couldn't help feeling intimidated by his presence. "You don't have anyone to say goodbye to?" he asked coldly. Celine shook her head, "No, my lord. My family is gone, and my friends are on duty." Gabriel's reply was just as cold, "Well, that's not my problem. You're here to serve me now. You better get used to being alone." Celine felt a pang of anger and sadness at Gabriel's words. She knew he was right, but it didn't make the pain any less real. She wanted to scream and lash out at him, but she knew that would only make things worse for her. "Yes, my lord," she murmured, looking down at her feet. Gabriel snorted in disdain and turned away, heading towards his pack. Celine watched him go, her heart heavy with sadness and regret. She knew that her life would never be the same again, and that she would have to adapt to this new way of living if she wanted to survive. As the journey continued, Celine kept to herself, avoiding any interaction with Gabriel or the other slaves. She didn't want to draw attention to herself, and she knew that any misstep could result in punishment. She spent most of her time lost in thought, wondering what her life would have been like if she had never been taken as a slave. She missed her family and friends, and she longed for the freedom she had once taken for granted. But as the days passed, Celine began to notice that Gabriel was watching her. At first, she thought it was just her imagination, but then she caught him staring at her more than once. She didn't know what to make of it, but she couldn't shake the feeling that he was up to something. Eventually, they arrived at their destination, and Gabriel addressed his new pack. Celine listened quietly, feeling a sense of dread wash over her as she realized just how much power he had over their lives. As the day wore on, Celine tried to keep a low profile, hoping to blend in with the other slaves. But she couldn't shake the feeling that Gabriel was watching her every move, waiting for her to slip up. She knew that she would have to be careful if she wanted to survive in this new pack, but she also knew that she wouldn't be able to do it alone. She needed allies, someone she could trust. But for now, she was alone, and all she could do was wait and hope for the best.
