Dragon Doctor and Other Poems

Trevor was a Blue Speckled Dragon

Flying over the peaks of Randsham

He soared high into the clouds

It was flying lessons for Trevor

He still hadn't got the hang of it

" Practice was key " his tutor always told him

But Trevor wanted to beL the fastest

Dragon in the entire world

He was fearless

" Just, tell him I'm alright Luna, I don't want my son to be worried "

Luna nodded and cried louder

Than a lion's roar

" But up there is dangerous. The storms are a death trap for dragons. Please Juma

think about what you are doing. What you are leaving

your home and your family "

Juma glanced back at Luna

" I have been asked to do this. If I had a choice I would

Turn back, but I can't. "

Luna grabbed onto the fiery orange wings

" Just, just stay safe. "

With one last goodbye Juma zoomed into the sky

As the sun rose up, Trevor was awake bright and early

" Where do you think your going? "

Trevor stood motionless

As he saw his mother

" Nowhere "

Trevor's mum stared back at him

And sighed

" Don't give me that. You want to start practicing flying don't you. I know

You want to become the best of the best but - "

" Why can't I, dad was the best of the best " Trevor interrupted

" Your Father's ignorance cost him his life! "

Trevor stopped and stared

Flying away into the sapphire blue sky

" I'll show who can be the better dragon. I don't need flying lessons "

Violent, black clouds started forming

Powerful gales blew across

Loud booms of thunder

Petrified Trevor

As the storms approached

Lightning surrounded him

" I don't need help. I'm the best dragon

Plummeting down

He landed on the soft cushion of snow

A minuscule goblin

teleported towards him

" Who are you? " I asked stunned

The world started spinning

" Don't worry I'm the Dragon Doctor "
