I knew Selene wouldn’t be thrilled with the decision I made—and that I had already agreed on with Lean—because we both saw it clearly. Sage and our mate were going to end up getting along very well, and when that happened, I was even prepared to transfer Sage to her as Beta, because that’s exactly what Sage needed: a strong woman to admire and identify with. We were sure Selene was the one.
