Nox fell several feet away, his nose shattered. After touching the blood, he looked at me.
"Was that a yes?"

"What happened, sweetheart?" Kael asked, his eyes never leaving Nox.
I was so furious I didn’t want to answer. The rage burning through me wasn’t aimed at Nox, nor at the death of my parents or the chapter I was reopening with my choices. No. My anger was at myself—for the decision I had just made.
