I was nervous.
A whirlwind of emotions surged through my body all at once.
On one hand, I had just gone through a terrifying ordeal, facing off against the twins' toxic girlfriends. A situation that had resolved itself in the strangest way imaginable. And, I’ll admit, I would have liked to believe that they had seen a security guard or someone from campus security and that was why they decided to leave.
But I knew that wasn’t the case.
The echo of that growl in my head was still there, lingering.
What the hell was that?
And why had the twins’ girlfriends said I was hiding something—something that seemed critical in their decision to leave?
