Chapter 3: Conflicted Hearts

Even though Sofia tried her best to avoid everything, it all happened quicker than she expected. She didn't even know when it had been done and when she had the Alpha drilling into her, having the best time of her life, saving the bond between she and her mates. Even though she knew that the Alpha would come to realize what she was doing and regret it, of course, she still couldn't stop herself from enjoying every pleasure that came with being with the Alpha.

And of course, he was also having the time of his life with her. And at that moment, he began to doubt himself.

“What if he wanted her after all? What if after knowing of her status and what if after everything, he still comes back and wants her?” Because only this one night session he had with her, it felt like his world was now filled with rainbows. Everything felt so amazing to him, and he couldn't even control himself. He couldn't even control his body from wanting her more and more.

After their passionate nights together, Gabriel became confused. He did not know what he wanted. Yes, beside him slept peacefully was Sofia. As he was unable to sleep, not because he felt angry, but because he couldn't control himself enough to stay away from her.

And even still staring at her beside him, he still was unable to control himself again. He just felt like he wanted her more and more. He wanted to be inside of her continuously, and that made his mind go bizarre because he couldn't understand what exactly was in her that he couldn't stay away from. He was so confused, and he didn't know whether to keep his mate or not.

He stayed awake till the break of dawn as Sofia stretched and opened her eyes only to see Gabriel sitting there, his hands folded. And of course, he was still lost in thoughts and clearly waiting for her to wake up before clearing his doubts and clearing his mind of all the things he had been thinking.

She sat up only for her to realize what had gone, what had happened. Flashbacks came to her instantly, and she quickly covered herself up using her eyes to scan around for her clothes as she picked them up and started wearing them. But Gabriel still sat there watching her before he cleared his throat to speak.

“I don't know what to do, Sophia,” he said as she stopped in her movement and looked at him.

“Alpha,” she muttered. “I am sorry. I am sorry that I tried to compensate you even when you pushed me away.”

She insisted as Gabriel felt frustrated.

“It's not about that. My mind is in confusion now,” he said about to begin.

But Sophia was quick to stop him.

“It is fine, Alpha. I would continue to apologize to you for me daring to make a move towards you. I was a fool to do that. It was all a mistake, I promise you, and it won't happen again. I would try my best to stay away from you as much as I can. I would keep that distance. I won't want to be a bother to you at all.”

Sophia tried to assure Gabriel as instantly her words got on his nerves, and he got even angrier standing up as he wore his clothes.

“Get out. It seems as though you are not worth it. How dare you tell me it was all a mistake?” he said, unable to control his emotions as Sofia felt confused.

“Wasn't that always what he wanted?” she thought to herself.

But before Gabriel could continue, his phone rang as he picked it up only for him to quickly pick up some essential things and storm towards the door. He stopped, noticing that he had not yet answered Sofia, and then slowly turned to her with a frown.

“This discussion is not over. I won't let you go just so easily. How dare you tell me it was a mistake?” he added and then rushed out since he had to attend to other important things while Sofia just stood there.

The door opened again only for Gabriel to poke his head inside.

“Do not leave my room no matter what. Do you understand?” he said.

He instructed her before finally leaving her there as she was in total confusion. She sat on the bed, wondering what to do. Should she just go back and do her normal daily duties or sit here and wait for the Alpha who was so angry at her?

She waited for a long time, but yet she still did not see him, and of course, she began to get mad, wondering what he had in stock for her.

“Why would he even want to play a trick on my mind?” she thought to herself, only for the door to swing open, and it was Selena as she folded her hands.

“Why are you still here?” she questioned as Sofia was instantly shocked and confused.

She knew that Selena would mistake everything, and seeing her in the room, she would instantly know what happened between she and the Alpha.

She did not want Selena to misunderstand anything and quickly stood up.

“I was just about to leave,” she said as Selena laughed.

“Why are you leaving? The Alpha wants to talk to you in his car,” she said as Sofia was immediately confused.

“In his car?” she questioned again as she nodded yes.

“In his f*****g car,” Selena assured her as they walked towards the car, and she seemed a bit confused.

“Why would the Alpha want to see her and none of his guards are even around?”

“Enter the back seat,” she instructed. Just as she entered, the door was immediately shut,Sophia instantly became confused wondering what was going on and before she could figure out what was wrong she lost consciousness.
