Kaila's POV
I can't sleep last night. I can't imagine that Geo's parents did the cruelest thing in the world. I feel sorry for him. I do not know if he can move on so easily. It's completely a mess.
"Kaila! Wake up! Almost time for school." My mom shouted from my door.
"Yes, mom! Am coming."
I went down to eat. Even eating is not anymore delicious to me. How much more for Geo? I think I need to go there, at least just say "hello!"
"What happened to you, Kaila? Time to school!"
"Just nothing, Mom." But inside me is the situation that occured last night.
"You're thinking about Geo, am I right?"
"Yes, Mom!"
"But my dear, don't judge his parents. They did that for a reason."
"What reason, Mom?"
"We do not know. Just wait 'til the truth will speak for itself."
I don't think so I would agree with my Mom's excuse to protect them. But, I don't have much time to think about that matter now. I need to go to Geo, and released the burden, at least even slight portion. I ate very fast and went to their house.
It was 7:45 a.m., fifteen minutes before class. I enter their seemingly palace 3 storey house. The guard was their, but the environment is so silent. I am not used to that situation. it seems that everybody is in solitude.
I entered the 3rd floor. His room was opened. I was knocking outside his room for about three minutes, 6he I grabbed the door knob. He was not around. Where is he? School maybe!
"What are you doing here?" He was at the back for several minutes already. He was just following me.
"Oh my God!" I was terrified because he just interrupt s without any signal that he was there. "Are you not going to school?"
"I am sorry Kaila but not for now."
"But your grades?"
"I don't care about grades anymore."
"But I thought you wanted to take a scholarship program with me so that we'll still be together."
He did not answer that question. Instead he just said:
"Look, Kaila. I am very busy today. I need to pack my things..."
He is not yet finished, but I interrupt already.
"Pack things for?" This time I sound like a wife to his husband.
"I will transfer..."
"Where?" I started crying. "To Ateneo de Cebu?"
"Let me finish, Kaila, please? Would you mind?" Then I stop from questioning.
"I will transfer to my Uncle and Aunt. It's just near here. You just need to pay for seven pesos."
He write down the complete address and hand it over to me.
"Geo, be careful!"
"Yeah, I will." He keeps on turning his head away from me. Then I remember.
"By the way, who told you that you will transfer there?"
"It's in the letter. Here."
I took the letter from him. The letter goes...
Dearest Geo,
First of all, I am sorry, my dearest son. I don't want to leave you, but your grandma and your dad forced me to leave you for awhile to help them raise our business in Korea.
You don't need to worry. I will be back soon. Take care of yourself. For the meantime, you will be staying with your uncle. Would it be okay for you, my dearest son?
Again, I am sorry. See you soon, my dearest son, and may the blessing of God be upon you, and that he will guide you everyday.
-Mom!
"I have no choice, Kaila. It's mom! I have to obey her."
"I understand, Geo."
"We'll still be seeing each other in school. And yes, I will take scholarship. Happy?"
His words are very jolly and jovial but not his face.
"Happy. Take care."
"That's for sure, you too Kaila."
"Do I have to leave now?"
"Yes, you need to!" He pinched my right cheek. "And get high grades, okay?"
"Okay." Then I hug him tight.
I was about to leave and Geo stopped me.
"What?" I sound nervous.
"My excuse letter, what are you thinking Miss Kaila?"
"Nothing. I was just shocked."
"Shocked for what?"
"Just nothing."
"Keep going then."
I don't want to leave Geo. I wanted to just stay with him for a whole day, prepare his things. But I think also that he need space, so it's better to just leave him for awhile.
I was walking until I reach terminal. Our school is seven minutes are from there. Oh My...I am already late!
I was about to enter the bus when Clark came in.
"How are you, my little princess?" He teased me again.
"Shut that mouth, Clark!"
"Oh, relax. Okay?"
Clark is one of the many handsomest in school. He is attractive though. But there is one thing I don't like with him. He's demeanor. He acts like a child, childish in short.
"What are you staring at?" He asks, maybe wondering why I went silent and look at him like that.
"Nothing, freak!"
"You're still very tough, my little princess...so tough!" He is still looking at me as I grab a seat.
While on my way to school, I was still thinking about Geo. I heard from my mom and dad that he did not eat the entire day, and crying for the whole day. I am praying that he will understand the situation soon. God, please help him!
As I say the ejaculation prayer, the bus stop. The school is so silent. It would only mean something: I am late! Not just late, but very late!
I approached the guard. But, my ID? I left it! But where? Oh, in Geo's house!
"Guard, I am so sorry but I have forgotten to bring my ID." I beg.
"I know!"
"What?"
"I said 'I know.'" How did he know?
"Since from there, you are already searching for it, but don't worry, you may now enter."
"Thanks."
I entered the class, now I can hear them talking. Miss Cruz is not yet here. Thank You, Lord!
