Chapter 30 The next morning Sartin woke, an acrid odor filling his room. His wrists ached more than the day before. He lifted them up so he could see them. The cuffs dug into his skin, the metal resting in a trough of green, black, and dark red tissue. The wounds turned the edges of his dark brown skin black and green as well. He needed the seawater to cleanse the gashes and the ferns to help them heal. The door to the room jiggled and clinked then Tobydallum entered with a small platter of the salted fish.
