“You just had to piss him off, didn’t you?”
Korrin was slumped back in his chair, trying to process what had just happened. Ruslo was pacing back and forth in front of him.
He’d never wanted to be King, had never wanted to lead these people, but after what he saw up there… he didn’t think he could just ignore it.
The look Durriken had given Kris was too much to bear. His excitement at seeing her almost made Korrin sick. There was no way he could let Durriken lead: they would have had to flee the Kingdom before the night had been over.
