Jessica and Jacob entered a small printer shop, the bell jingling softly above them as they stepped inside. “We’d like some wanted posters printed, please,” Jessica requested, determination in her voice.
The shop owner glanced at the photo they provided, a chuckle escaping his lips as he printed multiple copies. “This is quite the character,” he laughed, adding to the confusion.
Later, back in their hotel room
Jessica, rolling her eyes, retaliated by throwing a towel at him. Go freshen up quickly. We have work to do tonight.
Jacob headed to the bathroom, leaving Jessica alone with her thoughts. Discreetly, she inspected Jacob’s back for any concealed weapons or secrets, searching for a sense of safety. Finding nothing, a small sigh of relief escaped her lips.
Meanwhile, in the lab, a team scour Jessica’s room, desperate to find the missing project. They soon realized the critical information was stored on her personal laptop, now out of their reach.
On the street, Jessica and Jacob began pasting the wanted posters they had printed. “I have an idea,” Jessica revealed, recalling her earlier suggestion in the restaurant. We can create an information campaign about this person, offering a reward for my image. If people give us deep information, we’ll follow their leads to find my family.
Jacob’s eyes widened in astonishment at her clever suggestion. After a moment of contemplation, they agreed to implement the plan, a renewed sense of purpose fueling their actions.
As the hours stretched into a tense twelve, Jessica and Jacob anxiously awaited a call, hoping for a clue about her family. Their patience was finally rewarded when a parcel arrived at their apartment.
Jacob hesitated, uncertainty gripping him. “Should we open it?”
Before he could voice his concerns, Jessica boldly stormed to the door and retrieved the package. “Let’s see what we have,” she said, her heart racing.
They opened the parcel together, revealing a letter from the restaurant owner. Jessica’s eyes darted across the page, and she felt a spark of hope as the letter contained an address where she might find information about her family.
“YES!” Jessica leaped for joy, her excitement palpable.
But as Jacob read the letter, unease washed over him. “This could be a trap,” he murmured, a knot forming in his stomach.
Meanwhile, back in Korea, the lab team searched Jessica’s house, but her personal laptop remained hidden from their grasp. The head of the lab’s fury grew as he realized they were running out of time. “If she doesn’t show up soon, I’ll kill her!” he threatened, his anger echoing in the sterile lab.
Jessica and Jacob finally reached the address provided in the letter, their hearts racing with anticipation and dread. They knocked on the door, but silence greeted them. After several tense moments, the door creaked open to reveal an old woman, her face devoid of warmth or welcome.
As the old woman stood before them, visibly sweating, she began to explain her situation. But before she could finish, a gunshot shattered the tension, striking the old woman in the head. Jessica froze in shock, the horror unfolding before her eyes.
A knife pressed against Jacob’s throat, forcing him to remain still. In an instant, they found themselves tied up with ropes, the reality of their perilous situation sinking in.
The old woman lay on the floor, covered in blood, a grim testament to their misfortune. Just then, a voice from behind greeted Jessica, sending chills down her spine. A figure stepped into the room, bending down to meet Jessica eye to eye, the menace in his gaze unmistakable.
