Renee was out cold, so I scooped her up in my arms and carried her out of the bathroom towards the front door to get her out of there. Her body was limp in my arms, and rage trembled in my bones as I held her against me, murmuring in her ear. Nobody noticed what just happened; the house was too drunk to care, and hardly a single person looked up as I carried Renee out the front door. I found Jake and Aaron with Jason once we were safely outside. Or, more specifically, I saw Jason on the ground with Aaron and Jake standing over him, snarling in the rain. Jason was groaning, clutching his ribs as Jake aimed another kick at his midsection. “Let’s go,” I told them, resisting the overwhelming urge to set Renee down and rip Jason to f*****g shreds with my bare hands. “He f*****g drugged her,”
