Veronica's POV
The walk back home was too quiet for my liking. Seth was unusually silent as we made our way through the woods.
Normally, Seth would have had some sarcastic (not like Beau's) comment by now.
Was it something I said?
Did Quinn do or say something?
Or maybe he was just tired.
I bit my lip and glanced at Avie. She too was the same. Seemed like everyone had something on their mind.
I sighed as my mind drifted to Adnam's last words.
Princess.
It wasn't like I felt like a princess. I wasn't the type to let people out me on a pedestal. Not after everything that happened with my parents and the pack. I wasn’t anyone’s ideal. Yet... when he said it, there was an almost protective feeling to it.
