I watched as Veronica went into their territory, my heart twisting and racing at the same time.
Twisting because of the pain and everything Veronica went through.
Racing because I didn't know what Veronica's uncle wanted to discuss with me. The fact that I didn't even know he was closer than I imagined scared me.
I'd been slacking off.
