Veronica’s POV
The cafeteria smelled like food mixed with sweat.
I pulled my hoodie over my hair as I made my way past some groups of guys laughing too loudly. My eyes skimmed the large room until I found Seth and Beau, seated by the far end window as always.
“I…we like to observe quietly,” Beau had said with a smirk when I asked why they always sat there.
Beau waved the moment he saw me, all bright teeth and boyish charm. Seth was already halfway through whatever c*****e he'd done to his sandwich. I swerved toward the counter and grabbed a burrito. Just wanted something quick and fast.
“About time,” Seth said as I dropped into the seat beside him.
