The Alpha's Lost Daughter

Chapter 6 - Aleksander

Looking at Lina sitting at the table with our family my heart swelles with love and joy. Our family was finally hole again. But just as the thought sunk in Ray mentioned that we have a lot to tell Lina before midnight and fear washed over me.

How would se react. Would se be able to handle it. Would se think we were crazy and run off. What if she decides to take Mason and leave before midnight. What if she's all alone when it happens.

As my thoughts spiral I feel a hand take mine and it's Lina trying to comfort me when she has no idea her entire life is about to change.

'Its ok Alek, we will all be there and we will help her trough it. We have enough time to at least prepare her. She won't go through it alone.' My dad linked me and managed to calm me down a bit.

When dinner was over a Lina went up to Mason room the rest of us went to our privet family living room to figure out how to best prepare her.

"Well I think first we need to decide what is important for her to know before it happens, the rest we can slowly tell her over the next few days or fill her in as questions and situations arise." Jason said just as my dad closed the door behind him.

"Jason's right, we need to tell her the most important things first then slowly work our way through the rest." Mom said while taking a seat and waiting for dad to join her.

We discussed and argued untill we all agreed on the short list of things she needed to know tonight. We don't have much time and didn't want to overwhelm her with to much if it wasn't necessary.

At 21:00 I went to wait for her in the hallway hoping she would come up so we wouldn't have to rush her with any information or questions she might have.

I was starting to think she might not come up in time when I saw her come around the corner and smiled in relief. She smiled back but then looked a bit confused and asked me if everyone went to bed. I could se the disappointment in her eyes and quickly shook my head.

"No. We have all been waiting for you." I lead her to our family and let her sit between me and Jason. I see Jason take her other hand and feel her relax slightly before se spoke. "So what is so important that you need me to know it before midnight?"

We all exchanged looks of concern and I felt her tense up again. Before she has time to pull away I have to tell her. "There are a few things you need to know about us but also about yourself." She turns to look at me so I continue "We are special, different, from normal humans. And our biggest change happens at midnight on our 18th birthday." I stop for a moment making sure she is still with me. Even though she is more relaxed I can see she is also more confused.

That's when Ray jumped in to help me. "What Alek is trying to say is that we are werewolves. You are also a werewolf but you wouldn't have know because we only get our wolfs a midnight on our 18th birthday."

I froze looking at Lina hoping that she doesn't freak out completely. But Lina looks frozen too. "Lina sweetheart, did you hear wat Rachael said" moms calm voice flowed over us. And Lina turned to mom to confirm what Ray just told her. After mom gave her a node she looks at Jason, then dad and lastly me. "So you're saying I'm going to turn into a wolf in less than three hours?" Lina turned and asked mom. "Yes sweetheart, that's exactly what we're saying." Lina let go of my hands and started playing with her hair. We sat in silence giving Lina time to process what we just told her.

About 15 minutes later Dad decided we needed to get her out of her head. "Lina?" She looked up at him a little dazed. "Do you have any questions for us. Anything you would like to know or want us to explain before we tell you more?" He gently asked her and patiently waited for her to respond.

After a few deep breaths she finally spoke. "So what parts of werewolves as we see them in movies and books are real and what parts are made up?" Ray took the lead on this question as she was the one who loved all the human stories about us. She found it fun to point out all their mistakes or false facts about us.

"Ok. I've got this one. You could say we are more like the wolves in Twilight in the sense that we are not bound to the moon and we mostly keep to ourselves, we have our own pack schools and don't hurt humans. We have a leader which is called the Alpha and we have a similar thing to imprinting, except its works both ways." She looked at Lina waiting for another question when mom decided to stop them. "Ok. We don't want to overwhelm you with information right now. We would prefer to prepare you for your first shift."

"My first shift. What exactly does that mean? How do you need to prepare me?" She asked mom with a bit of fear in her voice. Before mom could answer, Lina asked "Will it be painful?" her voice barely audible.

It broke my heart to see her so scared so I pulled her on my lap, trying to comfort her. "We will be with you the hole time. You won't go through it alone. We are all wright here."

Mom came to kneel infront of us and took Lina's hands in hers. "The first time will hurt. It can take anything from a few minutes to a couple of hours, depending on how strong your wolf is. Once you shift is complete we will all shift into our wolfs and go for a short run in the woods together, as a family. We don't want to push you too hard as your body will hurt when you shift back to your human form. Once your first shift is over you will have heightened senses and also a much faster healing rate as your wolf will help you heal, so you shouldn't hurt too long after the run." Mom sent out a calming aura which helped, I could feel Lina relaxing a bit in my arms. I loosened my arms around her slightly giving her space to sit up.

22:46 "We thought it would help if we went out earlier and show you our wolfs, explain what shifting feels like, what to expect. You can ask anything that you think might help make it easier for you." Dad told her while walking over to stand behind mom. "We only have about an hour now, would you like to meet our wolfs first?"

Lina took a deep breath "Yes I think that would help, I would like to meet your wolfs."
