The Alpha's Lost Daughter

Chapter 17 - Alek

Lina's birthday turned out to be way more eventful and informative than I would ever have expected. I have never seen any Alpha be able to command a wolf that is not part of their pack, then she healed the pup she saved. Knowing she does not have too much experience or knowledge of her own abilities is a bit unsettling. I definitely dont want her to go anywhere, and even more so now. What if something happened to her and I wasn't there? I would not be able to live with myself if I lost her again.

We decided to let her enjoy the rest of her birthday, although I don't think she knows what's coming. The entire pack already wants to meet her and now all the allies are here as well. She will not have any rest tonight.

Ray linked me, making sure I wore a dark green shirt to match Lina. Just as JJ will be matching her. It is tradition for the hosting pack 's alpha family to open up the ball with a dance. As the children of the Alpha, we have always been part of the dance. Usually, JJ and I take turns dancing with Ray and the other gets to pick a partner from the other Alpha families or our own pack members. Now that Lina is here, we can take turns dancing with our sisters, until we find our own mates that is.

Lina and Ray walk out of the room and they both look breathtaking. I can already see Lina is not used to dressing up or attending big formal gatherings. She will need to be introduced to the other pack Alphas and she doesn't even know any of our costumes. Tonight is going to be quite interesting.

After Lina learns she will need to dance as well her heart rate increases significantly. I use the rest of the time to teach her to dance. From the second we start descending the stairs, Lina transforms into a True Alpha. She might be scared, nervous and unsure, but there isn't a single tell on her, the way she carries herself is magnificent.

'Now its time to introduce you to everyone' I link her. 'Promise me you will stay by my side. I don't think I can do this without you.' Lina's voice sounds shaky even while she carries herself with so much power and pride. 'Always', I tell her with a smirk.

I give her my arm and we start making our way around the room. Surprisingly, both Ray and JJ have disappeared while Mom and Dad started making the rounds with us. Dad introduces Lina to all the Alpha and Luna couples, while I introduce her to all the Alpha children or future Alphas, as we prefer to be called.

When we reach Alpha Magnus and Luna Tracy of the Aqua-Moon Pack and their daughter Sara, we see JJ standing beside her.

After the introductions, dad turns to JJ and Sara. "Am I right to assume my son has found his Mate?" "Yes Dad. I have been blessed by the Moon Goddess to be Mated to Sara", JJ responds with the biggest smile. "So we have even more cause for celebration", dad says as he shakes Alpha Magnus's hand, while Mom hugs JJ and Sara.

'How long have they been together?' Lina asks me over mind link. 'They have met a few times as kind, but this is their first time meeting after getting their wolves.'

A look of confusion appears on Lina's face and I stifled a laugh. 'We do not choose our Fated Mates as humans chose a partner. Our Mates are the other half of our soul, they are given to us by the Moon Goddess herself. We can only find our mate after receiving our wolf as it is the other half of their soul as well.'

'So how do they know they are each other's Mates?' she asks. 'Well, I have not found my Mate, but we are told that a Mate's cent is overwhelmingly strong, their touch sends electric tingles through your entire body and then when you look into each other's eyes for the first time your wolves recognize their other half and call out to one another.' I could see the thousand questions going through her mind just by looking at her face and couldn't hold my laugh this time.

Everyone turns and looks at me. 'My little brother found his Mate before me. Can you believe he just had to one up me.' I said as I pulled him close and ruffed up his hair before shoving him away again. Everyone laughs and enjoys our loving, playful interaction.

'Where is Racheal? I haven't seen her since the dance."Mom asked JJ. "We both smelled something really good while we were dancing and went off to search for it as soon as the dance ended. We didn't know we weren't searching for the same thing until we ran into Sara. Ray kept going to find whoever she was being drawn to. I'm guessing she must have found them by now." he tells us just as Ray walks up with Erik Dawn future Alpha of the Crescent Pack.

This is quite an interesting turn of events. JJ is mated to an Alpha's daughter who has no son to takeover as Alpha. This means JJ will become Alpha of their pack with Sara as his Luna. Ray is Mated to a future Alpha and will become the Luna to her own pack as well. Our family will now be running 3 of the biggest and strongest packs in the country. This makes all 3 packs so much stronger as we will now always have a blood bond which ensures a long-standing alliance between the three packs.

We spent the rest of the night and early morning celebrating and getting to know the two new members of our family as well as their parents, as my siblings will both be leaving to join their Mates' packs.

By the time we went to bed it was already 3 am and Lina would be leaving later today.

a Feeling of dread washes over me as I lay in bed wishing she didn't have to go.
