Chapter four

Ethan headed to the boardroom to meet his employees and get to know their faces and for them to get to know him. He entered the room and inhaled a familiar perfume, one that belonged to Isabella. He didn't actually think she'd be sitting in the boardroom, he stood where everyone could see him and he spoke
"Good day everyone, it's nice to finally see faces. My name is Ethan Smith and I'm looking forward to working with you all. There are going to be specific changes and I hope you'll be able to adapt"
He scanned the room for a familiar face trying to feed his curiosity, and there she was looking directly at him as pale as a ghost. In order not to freak anyone out he took his eyes off her. He ended the short meeting and everyone proceeded to exit, he searched for Isabella and saw that she was trying to escape but no one was letting her through. She was the last to go out but before she could step out, he called out to her and she froze.
"Isabella" his voice firm, he motioned towards her with his Secretary right behind him.
He internally wanted to go straight to her and never let her go. He wanted to tell her how long he had been waiting for this day, the day he saw her beautiful face. But he couldn't, he kept his cold business expression and slowly approached her. He was a bit hurt that she was trying to escape him but he understood why.
"Mr Smith this is Isabella Turner one of our best employees, she works in the law department and has shown herself worthy. She has worked closely with your father, impressing him every time." His secretary said clearly pointing out how impressive Isabella was.
"Isabella Turner" Ethan repeated, not sure what to say next.
"Yes Sir." Isabella answered dumbfounded by the situation
"Nice to meet you" He said and walked past her without another word.
He didn't know what to do or say. He put on a cold expression and left for his office. Destiny sure knew how to play the cards. Even though lost in his thoughts he knew he had to keep his word no matter what, their situation was delicate even if the company didn't have a policy against having a relationship in the workplace unless it would affect one's capacity.
When Ethan realised he was done for the day, he needed to have a drink and who would be the best company at that moment? His best friend and right hand man William.
"Hey Ethan, it's been a minute. What's up"
"Hey man, I've been busy. Are you up for a drink ?"
"You know I am, meet you at the normal spot ?"
" Yes, I'll be there in a minute!"
Ethan knew he could count on William for anything and he knew William would catch a bullet for him and he'll do the same for William. They've been best friends since they were born. Ethan and Willam Dad's have been friends since college and they become best friends naturally with all the time they have spent together.
Ethan arrived at his personal restaurant, 'Smiths délices' he has always loved cooking so he invested in a restaurant which one day became so famous it's found in different countries and states.
"Hey Ethan" William said with a smile
" Hey man, I know you missed me " he said with a smirk
"Please don't go there, I'm not gay okay" he said while finishing off the whisky he had in his hand
"So what do you have to tell me?" William asked
"How do you know if I've got something to tell you? Can't I call my main man?" Ethan asked showing a hurt face
"Man I know you too well"
"So remember how I talked about that special girl I had a one-night with ?"
"Yes what about her, you've had other one night stands before! What now?"
"Will, this one was different and the fun part about it Is that I met her today?"
"You hardly see them twice, that's crazy."
"Guess where I saw her ?"
"I'm not in the mood of guessing Ethan, okay in a coffee shop" William replied clearly confused
"She works at the company" he said while he took his last sip of whisky
"Boy oh boy destiny sure did you bad" William said mocking
" I've got a busy day tomorrow and I don't intend to change anything between us. Thanks for the drink."
"Same here man, anyways keep me updated." William said before leaving

Ethan got to the office way earlier than planned.
"Good morning Sir, I would like to talk to you about something important"
"Good morning Lack, go ahead."
"Sir I've been working for your father for years, I would like to retire due to personal matters"
Ethan was shocked, he was already going through chaos and now this. He had to find a new Secretary executive and one he could trust but who?
"Lack it's going to be difficult to let you go, if I do, how do I find someone to replace you ? Someone trustworthy?"
"Sir, I've already thought about it and I've got someone in mind. She works in the law department and is trustworthy."
"Okay who do you have in mind ?"
"Isabella Turner"
He couldn't refuse it because he knew how trustworthy Isabella was. But was she going to accept the position? He doubted she was going to accept but the real question was he going to be able to work closely with her without going against his word? Questions he didn't have answers to.
"Are you sure Jason?"
"Yes Sir, I am sure I've worked her for long and so has your father"
"Okay talk to her and keep me updated!"
"Will do, Sir, thank you."
"Okay, I'll let you know when I need you. Before you leave, let me know ASAP what she says so we can proceed."
