Attract any man

I let out a loud, jagged laugh that startled all three of us. Cassian’s eyes widened. Liora flinched again. Even I barely recognized the noise coming from my own throat. “It’s not really funny, Cassian,” I choked out, still laughing even as tears spilled down my cheeks. “Is this another one of your stupid pranks? This isn’t the time for it.” I laughed again, the sound breaking halfway into a sob. Because there was no way I had just heard my husband—my mate, my Alpha—calmly request an open marriage. No way he was standing there holding another woman’s hand while telling me she would share my title. My position. My life. It had to be a joke. It had to be. Any second now he would crack that rare, crooked smile of his, pull me into his arms, and tell me he was only trying to lighten the mood after a rough mission. Any second now the bond would flood with warmth and reassurance instead of this cold, hollow distance. But Cassian didn’t smile. He didn’t reach for me. His expression remained painfully neutral, the guilt in his eyes slowly hardening into resolve. Liora watched me with wide, pitying eyes that only made my stomach twist harder. My laughter died abruptly. I was falling apart in front of him, burning alive with need for the same man who was tearing my heart out. “You’re serious,” I whispered, voice raw. “You actually mean it.” Cassian exhaled slowly. “I do.” “No…” My hands trembled as I moved closer to him, desperate for something—anything—that felt like the mate I knew. “No, you can’t do that to me. Cassian, tell me this is a joke. How can you?” I gasped for air, the words tumbling out in a broken rush. “An open marriage? Cassian!” The heat chose that exact moment to betray me completely. Being so close to him made it explode. His scent flooded my lungs—rich, dark, and painfully familiar—triggering a deep, agonizing spasm low in my belly. A fresh wave of slick gushed between my thighs, so much that I could feel it trickling down my skin. My c**t pulsed hard, my inner walls clenching around nothing, begging for the thick knot only he could give me. I whimpered involuntarily, knees buckling as pleasure and pain twisted together. Cassian’s nostrils flared. He felt it through the bond. He knew. “Liora is my mate, Lyra. I need her”. “What about me?!” I shouted, voice cracking with pain and fury. “You’re both my Luna.” “No!” The word tore out of me, fierce and final. “I will not share you with another woman, Cass. I will never share my husband.” “You’re not in your right sense, we can talk again when you’re…”. His eyes trailed over my body, indirectly hinting at my heat. “Normal”. “No,” I snarled, fury and heartbreak twisting together. “I refuse your request. I refuse to let another woman ruin what we have. Take her back—take her back to wherever the hell she came from!” I launched forward, claws partially extended, vision narrowed on the woman who thought she could steal my mate. Cassian moved faster. His strong arms banded around my waist, yanking me back against his chest. I struggled wildly in his hold, thrashing and screaming. “Let me go! She has no right—!” “Lyra!” Cassian’s voice thundered through the room as he shoved me back. Hard. My back slammed into the wall with a sickening thud. A sharp gasp of pain tore from my lips as the impact rattled through my spine. “Stop this nonsense!” I stared at him in disbelief. “Don’t make me get someone to take you back. Leave at once”. “Cass…”. “Leave, lyra”. He ordered, using his alpha tone on me. I bit my lips hard, trying to hold back the tears as I turned to face the other woman, she let out a small smile as she moved closer to Cassian, faking weakness. ****** I will never accept his request. I sat on the edge of our bed, waiting, anxiously biting my nails until the skin tore. Why? Why was this happening? I had done everything right. I had been the perfect Luna—quiet, obedient, supportive even when it killed me inside. He had promised me. I’d rather reject him than accept this humiliation. No one in our pack had ever done something like this. The whispers, the pity, the names they would call me… The bedroom door pushed open. “Cassian…” I stood immediately, his name breaking from my lips. His scent slammed into me like a physical force—dark, powerful, and painfully familiar. The heat that had been simmering under my skin flared violently. Fresh slick soaked through my underwear as my core clenched hard, my body recognizing its Alpha even while my heart was shattering. “Look, I’m tired—” he began. “I will not accept it,” I cut in, voice trembling but firm. Cassian’s eyes narrowed. “It’s not up for you to decide. As your Alpha, I have already decided to open our marriage. A perfect Luna isn’t supposed to—” “Reject me.” The words left my mouth before I could stop them. I straightened fully, facing him head-on. I refused to let him humiliate me further by bringing that woman into our home. He blinked. “Excuse me?” “Reject me or I can just divorce you,” I repeated, steadier this time. “Then you can bring your fated mate home without any complications.” Cassian stared at me for a long moment… then laughed. “I think you’re forgetting something,” he said, stepping closer. “Our marriage in the first place was a contract. You were so madly in love you never bothered to read it properly. You cannot reject this bond or this marriage unless I initiate it. And right now, you’re still useful to me.” His voice dropped lower, laced with quiet threat. “One of the clauses also states that if you ever try to damage my reputation or make this public, you will owe me hundreds of millions. Last I checked, everything you own—every dress, every piece of jewelry, every cent—came from my money.” He stopped directly in front of me, eyes burning with anger and something colder. “But if you’d like to test how cruel I can be… go ahead. Reject me. File for divorce. I’ll ruin your reputation so thoroughly that even your own parents will turn against you. With the way you’re acting right now, you’ll make one hell of a headline.” I gasped for air, chest tightening painfully. “You’re a monster,” I whispered. He was right. We had married because his father was forcing someone else on him. But he had told me he liked me. That he was falling for me. That we were in love. Where was I supposed to get hundreds of millions? I had devoted everything—my time, my energy, my body, my heart—to him and this pack. “I have done nothing to deserve this,” I said, voice breaking. “I have always been faithful to you.” Cassian’s expression didn’t soften. “It’s not like you have a choice. This is simple. I will bring my Luna home… and you can try your luck on the streets if you think any man would want you. Though I doubt you can attract any man with that body.” “Attract any man?” I repeated numbly. Without warning, he grabbed my arm and dragged me toward the closet. His grip was bruising. “You’re hurting me—” “Take a look at yourself!” he snarled, forcing me in front of the full-length mirror. “Do you seriously think any man would want this? God…” His eyes raked over my body with pure disdain. “Even in heat, I can’t bring myself to touch you.”
