It was late, the kind of late where the building sounded louder than it should. Pipes clicked. The wind pressed against the balcony door. Jason’s parents had been gone for hours, but their voices still sat in my head like a stain I couldn’t scrub out. I sat on my bed with my laptop open, staring at the search bar. I knew that it was time that I finally researched Jason’s family name. Clearly, there was more to it than that.
