ABIGAIL'S POV
“Good morning!" I smiled at the next person in line, looking over what they had and the prices before ringing them out. “How have you been?"
I had tried to gather the strength and courage this morning to be okay enough to work and appear fine. It had taken a lot of concealer to hide the dark circles beneath my eyes from not sleeping.
The nightmares had only grown worse since I heard them talking about the guy from the big city being here. At least I hadn't kept John or my family up from screaming. I had mostly just woken up in a panic and had stayed up on my phone the rest of the night.
But I worked really hard to cover it all up with make-up and a big ol' smile because I wasn't going to deal with people asking me if I was sure I was good or fine. I wanted them to believe
