Heidi's face transformed almost instantly.
The fragile, sickly woman was gone, replaced by someone much more calculating.
She sat up straighter in her hospital bed, her ice-blue eyes no longer clouded with fake pain but sharp with cunning.
"My dearest Lucian," she said, her voice losing its breathy quality, "you always were so dramatic."
The Alpha kept his composure, though his eyes flashed dangerously with his fury.
"Stop wasting my time, Heidi. Tell me exactly what you know about Alpha Xavier's involvement in the attack on Allison."
Heidi's lips curved into a perfect, practiced pout.
