Allison stepped out of Lucian's arms like they burned.
She didn't look back as she strode into the apartment, her shoulders squared, jaw tight.
Inside, Kate was doing an Oscar-worthy performance of “Totally Innocent Housekeeper,” wiping the dining table with the intensity of someone trying to scrub away their sins.
