"You... you can't give her everything." One blonde woman refused to agree.
Fran chuckled. "It's his stones that he earned as he killed. You three could have helped him, but chose only to hold those things that could have been used to break their heads. I'm leaving. You..." She glanced at the man and patted his shoulder. "... you did good job protecting them, but next time take other people with you. Weak companions are not made for outside tasks."
"I didn't do task." He quickly explained as he rushed after her. Something made him speak those words. "I came out to go gather food and found them trying to get to the shelter. So I just helped."
"How... chivalrous." Fran chuckled and glanced at him flatly. "Tell ladies to move. I'm not their saviour."
He turned around and saw the three still standing and got sunned. "Are you three waiting their for more to come?"
They were already on street and moving fast away when the three women heard his words and realized they already were leaving. "Wait for us!"
Fran chuckled and slightly slowed down, while the man gratefully whispered. "Thank you. I can get special points if I bring survivors."
"Oh?" She was not angry with him or something and sighed. "In that case add me as well. I'm new."
"Are you sure?" He gratefully smiled.
"Yes. Add me as well. As newcommers we need to sign in anyway. If you can get few more points for me I'm fine with it." It was not big deal. And after all, she didn't lie.
She was truly newcomer. Newcomer to this world.
As the thermal suit evened the temperature outside, she felt comfortable, but she could see that they felt tiered and suffered from heat outside.
With furrowed eyebrows she glanced up and saw Sun beautifully shining over her head. "Biting."
It was actually joke in her base. Biting sun as they had to put special shades on the dome to stop the sunlight burn all the plants doing the daytime.
"Indeed. Are you ok? Your skin is probably naturally so pale." He glanced at her redning skin and she sighed.
Last three hundred years humans turned paler as they avoided Sun as much as they could. And except gardeners, everyone else had completely pale skin. She tried many times to get gardening job, but only those with families could go to gardens and enjoy the fresh air amongst plants.
"Yes. I lost my face cover and now I need another. This is going to be painful." She acted like it hurted her, buy she already took vitamins for this half of year. This much light won't be able to hurt her.
But the earth she used seemingly affected her sensitive skin and she probably will get rashes. Great...
But good excuse for her cover she will use later.
He glanced at the three women that still held police shields that they found nearby and smiled. "At least those you can use to exchange for many points. You are lucky to find such a good thing that military needs."
The three glanced at each other with smiles. They actually took it just in case there is need for protection. But now they will get special points in new shelter.
The streets was already filled with holes that were occasionally patched as they probably used them in need. The bushes and trees were cut near the street so they could see or hear anything that would approach them.
Of course there are more zombies.
A growling thing slowly crawled towards the group and Fran pointed at it. "Kill it and get the stone for yourself. I'll keep your back from others."
From the three only the blond one went towards the thing and slammed it's head with the lower part of the shield. Without feeling disgusted she took the blue stone he had and smiled brightly.
"It's blue! Blues are worth ten of pink ones!" She put it quickly into her pocket and proudly walked behind the two.
Fran and the man just glanced at each other with smile and continued walking. Of course there was no more just one zombie.
But luckily this time there are only singular zombies.
Fran glanced at the blind girl. "I'm Fran, your name? I can't call you hey you."
"I'm Steven." The man answered.
Blond girl haughtily looked at her and answered. "I'm Lucia. These two are Sarah and Trisha."
Many centuries ago in her world, people had multiple ethnicities. People were quite in love with those differences and liked to be proud. But after wars and resources rapidly waned. Billions of people died in just few decades, such thing as racism died as well.
To Fran those are three women with different hair or eyes, but they actually literally looked different.
She was race blind and didn't care about such idiotic things.
But her completely white skin with those red patches, short white hair and blue gray eyes were quite sticking. She didn't know that she was one of rare people even in her world.
The reason why they refused taking her was that they thought she wouldn't be able to survive on other planets where was no such strong shade like in the base.
But she could feel her body strangely getting stronger the more pure air she breathed. The skin might looked pale, but she had good genes. She probably will get healthy for after some time.
Not yet.
Lucia glanced at the pale woman that ruthlessly hit zombies heads and opened her side bag. Scarf that long ago looked like it was red, turned from sun into gray and pink, but it was still good enough.
"Take this, you are burning." Lucia thought that she lost her cover while trying to save them and felt partially bad.
Fran was stunned for a moment and shook her head. "I'll pay. You probably took it to exchange for points. How much is it?"
Before Lucia could say anything, Fran gave her pink stone and took the big scarf. "Good?"
The scarf was thin but long. She wrapped it around her head and face and only pair of the sticking eyes were seen.
Just then they realized how scary those eyes are. Ice cold and glaring.
In wonder she lowered the scarf down and smiled. "What?"
Her smile melted the ice and instead icy, it felt refreshing. How strange...
