Gabriel's POV:
When all the members of the Council of Elders gathered in the lobby of the pack house, I went down to greet them. The Council of Elders consists of five members, all former leaders of different packs. One face I recognized right away and greeted her right away.
“Hello Grandmother Jayda,” I said while bowing to her with a fist over my heart.
“Gabriel, how are you, my child?” She kissed both my cheeks before looking me over. “Growing well I see. Now, why did you summon us here so urgently?”
I couldn't look my paternal grandmother in the eyes as I spoke. “It's my mate, she tried to give the daughter of a visiting Alpha a lethal dose of wolfsbane.”
“Gabriel, that is a serious accusation. One that can cost you your mate. Are you sure you want to go through with this?”
