Chapter Thirty-nine
Johnny stood on the ladder leaning on the front of the former saloon.
EJ struggled to hold the sign above her head while Johnny tightened the bolt on the bracket. “I wish I was taller.”
“I almost have it.” Johnny twisted the wrench one last time. “That should do it. What do you think?”
The sunlight washed across the colored glass, a rainbow shadow of the image landing on the brick wall.
Charlie came up behind them. “I would say it’s some of my best work yet.”
Johnny climbed down the ladder and peered up. “It is beautiful. Mother would be proud of us all.”
EJ hugged his arm. “I think so, too.”
Johnny grinned. “I love it. Thank you both. The Shepherd’s Inn. I might have to get a sheepdog.”
