CHAPTER 15

ERIK'S POINT OF VIEW It's so hard to control myself around my Angel. I had no idea how I would be able to manage it. All of my instincts were just screaming at me to just claim her, but I wouldn't not till she was ready. Although how she wriggled her ass on me during the night made it nearly impossible to be patient, I've been seriously suffering from a case of blue balls, they physically ached to be emptied by her, no matter what I did for myself it barely gave me any sort of satisfaction. Walking into the longhouse with her, I put aching balls to the back of my mind as we saw my brothers, Bard and Geir, waiting for us. Loki flew in, circled the hall once and landed on the back of one of the empty chairs. Bard gestered for us to sit down and join them. "Ahh, there's the happy couple. Come, sit, eat." He boomed, smiling joyfully. If it wasn't for his hair colour, he could probably be a father Christmas, but more like the one from the rise of the Guardians except not Russian. Astrid blushed slightly as Danny and Logan laughed. Camron at least tried not to. I pulled out a chair for Astrid. She sat graciously as I pushed it back under the table, before taking my own seat. I put eggs, ham, toast and beans on her plate before sorting one out for myself. "I already ate, though. You gave me toast in bed, remember?" Astrid said gently, looking at me. "I know, but you just got your wolf and you were drinking, trust me, you're going to need to eat a lot more now you have got a wolf and have to avoid a hangover at all costs." I told her pointedly. I got her fork and gathered a little bit of everything on to it, holding it out in front of her. She looked around at the table, while her cheeks turned red. I didn't pay attention to anything else other than her eyes. I raised my eyebrows and brooded her mouth with the fork gently, she opened her mouth, allowing me to feed her. I didn't notice what the others were doing, I only had eyes for my Angel. Damn, I had fallen hard for her, a lot quicker than I would've ever thought possible. Yup, I'm definitely in trouble. "Right, well. I guess we should get the worst over with." Bard started once he had cleared his plate, he didn't look all too happy about what he had to say. "During the night Mathias had somehow escaped from his dungeon." I tensed, feeling Fenrirs hackles rise. My brothers had their game faces on. Astrid just rolled her eyes like this wasn't a big deal. "Astrid, I know you can look after yourself, but we don't know what Mathias is capable of in his state of mind. I've decided to take his jailbreak as him admitting he's guilty of spelling me." He paused and took a deep breath. "I think it would be in your best interest, Astrid, for you to go to Erik's pack, with him, today." This time it was Astird who tensed, a mix of emotions flashed across her face, too quick for me to register what she was feeling before she put a mask on again. "Father, I don't think I'm ready to leave." She says, her voice shaking. "I understand your hesitation, princess. But your going to move one way or another, and your going to have to come back some day to take over from me." He says, ending with a slight chuckle. "You'll be back before you know it, Erik's pack is much bigger and can protect you better. I don't want you to go so soon either, my little princess, but it is what I believe is best for you." By now he had taken her hand and given it a squeeze and he too had unshed tears waiting to fall. "Father, our tribe is just as powerful as Eriks if not more. Most of us are Lychans, we're practically trained to fight and kill from birth. I can look after myself, like you said, even better here, than on some strange new land." She stated. Okay, I have to admit that it sounded like she didn't want to come with me and that stung a little bit. Loki was on her shoulder now, seeming to comfort her. "Angel, I can understand why you don't want to. But Mathias knows this territory as well, he knows how you and everyone else fight, he knows the ins and outs of this place. He doesn't know our pack, our territory, how we fight. That would give us such an edge to protecting you, and like your father said, you can come back whenever you want." I told her, trying to get her to understand. Her eyes showed me annoyance, betrayal, sadness, then resignation to understanding. "I suppose, looking at it from that perspective, it does make sense, and we're going to do it some day anyway. We might as well get it over with." She says, getting up and walking out the door. Loki flew after her hurriedly. 'Get it over with.' Thats what she had said, almost like something horrible. I stood to go after her but Bard spoke again. "Don't. She needs a moment to herself, to process it all. It's probably a lot to take in, first thing in the morning, especially after only getting her spirit animal 24 hours earlier. Loki will look after her." "You're right." I told him and sat down reluctantly, wondering how a raven could look after her, but decided not to question it too much. He seemed like an intelligent creature. "Well, I suppose we should discuss some details and try and come up with some sort of plan." He said, all business like now. "I would like Geir to go with Astrid. They grew up and trained together, as well as him being her personal guard, having a familiar face around might make her feel a bit better about moving." "Of course. He's Danny's mate as well, so he'd be more than welcome." I said, smiling at them, although they didn't smile back, they both looked scared. I frowed my brow, confused. Had I got it wrong? I looked at Bard and he had a mask on, much like Astrid. "Hmm." He said. "I see. Well, I'm not one to stand in the way of the Freyja. If she chooses them to be together, then they will be together." He says, smiling. Danny and Geir sigh and start laughing with relief. "Thank you Chieftain," Geir said, tears in the corner of his eyes. "No need to thank me, I'm sorry you felt like you had to hide it from me." Brad said, looking guilty yet happy at the same time. Geir just nodded and turned back to Danny, who had that idiotic grin on his face, the one that only kids get when they get that toy they've been asking for for months on end. They held hands on top of the table and with that the rest of the morning talk turned to Mathias and what we were going to do. By the end of it, we had some of a plan. It's difficult to plan when you don't know where your enemy is or what they are going to do. Our plan mainly consisted of Astrid not being alone, and guards and shifts doubled in both territories. I stood up and decided to go find my Angel.
