MATHIS'S POINT OF VIEW Raised voices and heavy footsteps jolted me up from the cold floor. Needless to say, sleeping on a cold, damp stone floor is not the best thing in the world. My muscles are rigid and stiff. Stretching, I cause my muscles to pop, releasing some tension. I got to my feet, tenderly, and leaned against the cold bars to try and hear better. The silver in them only mildly irritates my skin now. It's bearable, for the moment. I strain my ears to hear as best as I can. Wishing, more than anything, I had my animal senses back. The voices were a mix of excitement and worry, some sounded confused, yet joyful, like they were celebrating but not sure why. Like their just going along with the crowd.
