The night air hung heavy as Grayson entered the dimly lit living room. The subtle clinking of ice cubes against the crystal glass resonated in the quiet space as Grace busied herself behind the minibar. Her mind, however, lingered in the remnants of the evening she spent with Dominic. The ease she felt in his company contrasted sharply with the tension that now filled her life. She poured Gin and tonic into her glass and added an ice cube. “Can you make one for me as well?” Grayson asked her, and Grace nodded. “Whiskey neat!” Grace was already taking out the Mcallan bottle. “Always!” Grayson accepted the glass with a nod, the clink of their glasses cutting through the awkward silence.
