Chapter 4: Real truth

"Today being the second day of my unfortunate retirement, feels so much excrucially boring, even thinking about yesterday is like having to bear the risk of suicide."

Clara recorded her self on her phone, which she considered a voice diary; seated on the sofa of her apartment , with a bowl of ice cream like as if she was going to die the next day, when Joy excitedly called her.

"Clara, guess what, mr Lex, mistakenly forgot his phone on the news counter yesterday and omg, I have it right in my hands." Joy replied quickly on the phone as Clara almost choked on the ice cream.

"You know you could just get arrested right, Charles is like the most successful business man in the state, he could already be tracking the ph......

"Hey, I'm being a good friend at the moment, don't you know there's a lot of hidden mysteries behind this phone, and besides if the guy was worried about it, he would have retrieved it quickly." Joy interrupted with huge excitement.

"I'm not even allowed to come to the office all through this week, so how am I supposed to join you in your life imprisonment crime." Clara responded, taking another big chunk of ice cream.

"Are you okay!!!, this crazy plan is just for you, so if I go down, we go down together, see you at your house after work hours, bye." Joy quickly hung up the phone without any further words and left Clara entirely speechless, as she saw a text from Jason; the last person she wanted to hear from.

"Hello Clara, am sending you an invitation of my bachelor's party on Saturday at the Jordan hotel, it's for your boyfriend and maybe you, I hope I could see you guys there." Clara read curiously the message sent by unfortunately Jason.

"A bachelor party is supposed to be a day before your wedding, or maybe three days, you actually do it now, and besides my boyfriend is on a business trip." Clara texted with the first thing that came into her mind.

"Is he Charles lex, we saw a picture of you two holding hands at diverse social media page, why didn't you tell us." Jason replied with a sad emoji.

"sorry but I can't tell you my boyfriend identity until the wedding date, can you just hold the bachelor party, normally". Clara answered confused on why her friend would ask that question, Charles was already engaged and had even won the crazy rush couples of the month.

"Kayla had already sent invitations to all my friends, she was very much excited that I didn't even realize, am sorry but I can't, please try make it, bye."

Jason went offline, as Clara immediately switched off her phone, the last she needed was to spill another thing that could make her stuck in a twisted universe.

Clara spent the rest of the day hours, thinking about the incident at the news industry and the cafe, why does she keep on meeting Charles, when his already engaged and maybe about to get married, she loved him, but she could not stoop so low to ruin his life, she just wanted to forget about him in peace, but some how fate just keep on fighting with her.

"Clara, I came as fast as I could after the close." Joy replied holding up the phone as she entered the apartment.

"Did you drink or what, drop that phone, I seriously thought you were joking or something, how could you be holding Charles lex phone, this is very much illegal." Clara whispered with a little shakened tone.

"I don't know why but I feel so much alive, however I was too scared to hack into the password until I came here."

Joy yelled, shutting the door behind her.

"So what does hacking into his phone has to do with me." Clara shouted at Joy who laughed continuously.

"You're his former college best friend for goodness sake, you must know something about him." Joy replied, showcasing the phone at Clara face.

She looked deeply into Charles phone and began to think about the time, when she carelessly forgot her password on her college laptop, this contained all her personal files, assignment and subject note, she felt like crying that day when Charles jokingly carried some powder, poured it all over the keys and typed in the correct password, he was like a wizard genius when Clara presently did the same."

"That was amazing, remind me to call you when i need to steal an expensive iphone brand." Joy replied as the phone unlocked.

Clara scrolled into the phone and surprisingly in just one day it disappeared, over a million people had called him, but there was an intriguing voice note that attracted her.

"Charles, you better call me back, this treaty, of marrying my sister, is for the investment of Lucas and lex industries, don't mess this up and come back to the interview." The male deep voice message ended swiftly, and it all finally made sense to Clara.

"it was a business treaty". she thought,

No wonder that girl had the right to talk to Charles like that and why he was Soo uncomfortable at the crazy rush show." Clara exclaimed.

"We have to return this phone back to him, his very much too important for this." Clara responded to Joy who got a huge mysterious clue.

"This voice sounds so familiar, I never knew Beatrice Lucas even had a brother, this family is pretty much secretive at everything." Joy answered, giving Clara the phone and heading out the apartment door.

"Well you're giving the phone yourself, I think Charles Lex next stop is the huge Jordan hotel on Saturday, right now his completely out of town, good luck." Joy ran away as Clara felt angry to pursue her.

The Jordan hotel is where Jason Is doing his bachelor party and she could not take that risk to attend, and on the other hand is pretty much the last stop for Charles in the town, she has to make a huge critical decision; come to the Jordan hotel and let fate take over, or don't, and avoid letting her spill the truth that she doesn't have a boyfriend.
