"Okay I'm here what's emergency". Clara ran with a quick pace towards her best friend's named Jason and Kayla, who were waiting patiently at a brand new cafe, across the street of her house.
Jason and Kayla smile suspiciously giving her a seat; they both looked at each other for about a moment, held their hands, and there hands, and finally reavealed the so called emergency.
"We're getting married". they said at once. Clara expression changed to someone who just got stabbed at the back.
" The reason why we told you it's an emergency is because we want you present, to tell you that your my maid of honor"......
"And your boyfriend could be my best man". Kayla responded and Jason continued.
"WOW that's amazing". Clara smiled, she looked kind of worried and dumbfounded.
"So you guys arranged for me a boyfriend or....
"don't be silly, you remember the guy you were telling us about, he sou, nded so sweet, caring and loving, we were hoping to see him at our wedding since you don't want to reveal his secret identity."
Unfortunately for them, Clara just used to talk about her imaginary perfect guy so she won't be left out of their friendship discussions.
"Oh sorry, i meant to say, is it allowed for my obviously real boyfriend to be one of your best man." Clara replied, trying to convince them her lies were true.
"Of course". Jason chuckled.
"So when is the wedding." Clara asked worriedly again to see if she could get away with lying to her best friends.
"One month from now." Jason exclaimed seeing the sudden bloom of Clara expression.
"My fiance (Jason) parents are planning an expensive wedding for us and it would take a while." Kayla answered with a happy reaction as they stood up from their seat.
"so we need to go now, we have a lot to do". Kayla replied as her and Jason winked at each other.
"bye". Jason smiled.
" don't forget to tell him." Kayla yelled stepping out of the door.
"I can't believe my two best friends, are getting married and I just lied to them I had boyfriend." Clara worriedly thought as she checked to see if her best friends had gone.
"They knew me better to know that I was lying, we were not only childhood friends, but also classmates at the same elementary and highschool; though Kayla and Jason attended the same college, I attended a different school but still kept in touch with them, I would rather waste my money and rent a boyfriend, I mean how hard is that". Clara murmured continuously.
Meanwhile in the process of her deep thinking, a huge celebrity named Charles lex, the owner of lex industries; a large and successful production company stepped into the cafe with crowd swayed at his side and back, heading to the VIP section.
"What do you mean it won't be ready, it's due tomorrow, wait, I'll call you right back." he hung up on his serious phone call, as he recognized a pretty familiar face.
"Is this seat taken." Charles smiled, signaling Clara attention, immediately with a little inch of her head raised up, she discovered her college best friend seating right at her front; apart from being best friend's with Jason and Kayla, Clara and Charles took care of each other like two strings tied in a knot In their previous college where they promised to be in touch but Charles inherited company made him busy otherwise.
"Charles." Clara shouted with excitement, instead of doing a hug like normal friends do, they just did a handshake, somehow because of the press that surrounded them.
"Wow, you're in town, I missed you soo much." Clara replied as she looked at Charles who was also excited to see her.
"It's really been long, we won't have a lot of privacy here, let's go to the VIP section." Charles insisted; pulling Clara to a whole new different side of the extremely large cafe which turned out to be a restricted place for huge business negotiators and celebrity hangouts.
"So you mean they just built the cafe for simpletons like me and a reserved ballroom for high-class crazy rich."
she was outstanded by the beautiful texture and design of the room.
"Actually, it was my idea, it's part of my industry production, we create buildings that help the society and invent latest technologies.
"Omg, I really need to sue you". Clara answered, this was my idea in college, when I explained in our sudden debate that it could help in business upgrade." she continued.
Charles smiled, admiring her sharp memory and brief courage, he loved that his friend was still the same, like diligent, determined and strong willed; the characteristics of an independent journalist.
"Well I guess I could not stop thinking about you." Charles replied with Clara trying to control her sudden blush, seated face to face in a royal white chair at the special reserved area, their eyes tried to avoid to meet, but the tension was too strong, when Clara went lost in thought.
"This is like a huge coincidence, I didn't really even need to hire a fake actor to be my best friend, Charles is like the perfect guy; but am not sure how to explain to him. she thought.
"Charles!!" a loud voice was heard, waking them up from their trance.
"Could you believe those bodyguards, almost did not allow your fiancee to get in." a young lady, sashayed like a beauty pageant queen towards Charles.
"What the hell are you doing here". Charles fumed with rage; he always despised that woman named Beatrice who is unfortunately going to be his wife because of a business treaty by his rival company and is now a pain in the neck to him.
"Well you know they have invented an app that could show where your boyfriend is and what his doing; unfortunately for me, your an untrustworthy boyfriend ", I mean fiance." she replied not even bothered to look at Charles.
"Excuse me Mrs, you're sitting on my seat" she smirked her eyes with wickedness, directly to Clara; if you know you have a little shame or dignity left, get up away from my fiance, the press is just outside waiting for a looser like you to be scarred for life.
"Beatrice would you shut up, you have no right...
Charles immediately interrupted, he got really angry to slap her but not then, Infront of his college best friend.
"Actually she's right, I had no shame to be talking to you like this, it's not a surprise to hear about you and Beatrice Lucas proposal, I just got too excited that I completely forgot, I'll be heading my way now I guess, nice seeing you Charles." She replied and left, her heart just felt this pain of shatters; she had been in love with him since college, but there was always something taking him away from her.
"Clara wait". Charles responded as he tried to come after her, but she suddenly disappeared away from the cafe.
" This is why I can't have a boyfriend or maybe companion, the guys I meet are either married or dating; it's just like an unlikely curse place upon me to be single, I just need another miracle before the month is over , I don't want.y best friends to think am a pathological liar which unfortunately I am." Clara said to her self as she signaled a taxi to take her home.
