Our school has a weird thing for Halloween – we take it kind of seriously. Hence, at this time of year, we kind of drop all kinds of academic activities and focus on only one thing: building the perfect haunted house and making a competition of it. We all gathered in the auditorium as the vice-principal described the event with way too much enthusiasm and tried to excuse it as an opportunity for learning teamwork. Though, by teamwork I knew this would somehow end up with a couple of students doing everything as the popular kids take all the credit. Even the principal appeared to be sighing and rolling her eyes from the corner of the theater. There is no way any of this was her idea.
