A few weeks have passed ever since we told Emerson about our relationship. Since then, we had lunch together up on the rooftop pretty much every day. Still, Emerson still has not fully accepted our choice. Eric tries to kiss me and hug me in front of Emerson but, feeling his discomfort, I push him away and, when we tease each other and joke around, Emerson seldom smiles. He always used to be so incredibly cheerful, unable to go five minutes without smiling, but lately this has been a rare sight. He really dislikes the idea of Eric and I dating.
“Aren’t you two afraid of getting caught?” Emerson asked as Eric pecked my cheek. He sat across us with a stern look on his face.
“Of course.” Eric answered, “But no one comes up here anyways.”
“Still…” Nothing we said could ease Emerson’s worry
